Lord of War - more of a Making A Point movie than I was expecting. Definitely serious and thought-provoking, though it has its satiric moments. Still, everything is laced with Yuri Orlov's bloody hands, metaphorically speaking as he is a successful gunrunner. He manages to sideline his own conscience and moral issues through rationalisation, supplying arms internationally. I think Nic Cage pulls off the central role okay. Ethan Hawke has a much smaller but pivotal role as the frustrated Interpol agent trying to bring Yuri down, possibly the most sane and moral of the characters that we end up seeing but it's really not that hard here. I'm not sure how to rate it, don't think it's something I'd want to watch again, but don't think that's because of it's quality. Don't go looking for feel-good with this one.
EDIT: Dodgeball? Is the complete opposite sort of film.
