Open Bar

Thank you very much everyone for all the well wishes. I know you think you folks are just commenting but I want you to know, it means a lot when you do.

Dear Diary,

Yesterday morning, we got the detailed bill from K's Dad mailed to us. K was really curious about how much our tab costs his parents from our reception dinner. As you know, it was open bar and we had more kids show up then expected and few people didn't show up. However, Ruth's Chris was kind enough not to charge for the kids and for not charging for the people who didn't show up even though they still served the appetizers for the people who didn't show up. So some guests had extra appetizers. In our contract it was for 100 guests, regardless if only 80 people showed up or not. Now if more people showed up, they had a booth reserved for us just in case and we would pay of course. I swear Ruth's Chris did a great job and the food was exceptional!! The main entrees were Ruth's Chris famous filet, Ribeye, Fish or chicken. If you ordered any of the four, it was just as great as the other... so I've been told. K and I really thought no one would order the fish or chicken if you had two choices of steak and being that Ruth's Chris are famous for their steaks but people actually ordered either the fish or chicken.

So anyway, back to the open bar bill. No wonder our guests were raving so much about our reception because these bitches were drinking it up like they were rock stars!! K and I had a good laugh when we read some of the things our guests ordered to drink. Doodoo boy he was drinking champagne, my girls drank 5 bottles of fine wine, some were taking lots of hards and we saw some drinks on there K and I never heard of like Ferrari Carano or Feuillatte. Then they even ordered a dessert on there that wasn't even our menu. Dessert was ice cream or sorbet and wedding cake of course, but people actually ordered chocolate sin cake. Damn, wished I knew so I could've had some of that. K and I had quite a laugh and so did his parents. It's funny how his Dad said Coors Light beat Bud Light by a bottle and blamed it on his cousin Louie when he got up and used the bathroom and missed out on ordering that one last Bud Light which could've made it a tie between the two beers. Heineken didn't even make the running. lol So food and liquor bill was almost the same.

K's Dad also threw in the receipts for the rehearsal dinner bill at Shokudo Restaurant and my baby/wedding shower bill. My girls threw me a surprise baby/wedding shower at Natsunoya Tea House about a month ago and my MIL contacted Amy and insisted she pay for everything so my girls didn't have to foot the bill because my MIL knew my girls were strap for cash. How sweet is my in-laws no? Anyway, there was only about 15 people at the rehearsal dinner versus about 40+ people at my baby/wedding shower. There was liquor at the rehearsal dinner and no liquor at the B/W shower, guess which bill was way more? The one with the liquor of course. It just amazes me how I should've been in the liquor business.

We got our pictures on Thursday and out of the 500+ shots we took, we need to pick 300. K doesn't want to sit and pick 300 pictures, and of course I don't mind at all so we need to sit down and go through each one. He's really considering just buying the 500+ shots so we don't have to sit and look through each one. But why pay for almost the same shots no? The slideshow turned out really nice. K and I sat down on Thursday night and we watched it on our TV and we both cried all over again. I think over the weekend, we watched it at least 10 times.

I had K redo the music and so K put our songs in and it fit perfectly with the slideshow. We were lucky enough to dance our first dance with these songs. The night before our wedding, K and I didn't get to see each other and he had a very hard time with this. The guy was begging me all night to sleep in my room or at least walk on the beach for a hour or so until he think he could fall asleep. Luckily, I had my Bro, his wife and CJ sleep in my room that night or else I would have given in. It was a beautiful night out and to walk on the beach with him that night would have been so romantic.

He didn't have anyone sleep with him in his room that night because he was afraid he would start crying. If he ended up crying, which he did, he didn't want anyone to see him all vulnerble. So he decided to keep himself busy by picking the songs we were going to dance to at our first dance. This was a bad move because this what made him start crying that night, listening to all our songs. But I'm glad he did this because I totally forgot to do this. He picked the one song I dedicated to him a few years ago which was By Your Side by Sade. There was also another song that we both liked and I told him before, it's the other song I would like to dance with him to at our wedding and I'm surprised he remembered. It's Angel by Sudden Rush. The other two songs he picked is songs he picked that always reminds him of me the instant he hears it. All in all, he picked the right songs.

So who wants to watch the slideshow of our wedding ceremony? Be forewarned, it's 15 minutes long and you need Quicktime. Anyway, click right here for the link. I hope you all enjoy it.
