It's not that I want historical accuracy in The Mummy fanfiction. Oh, wait, I do!
Nefertiti. Nefertiri. They're spelled almost the same, but? You know what?
You know, that 'r' versus the 't' makes a REALLY FUCKING BIG DIFFERENCE when you're talking about historical personages, their effect on Egyptian history, and, oh, EVERYTHING IN GENERAL when it comes to Nefertiti as opposed to Nefertiri.
Evie Carnahan is the reincarnation of Nefertiri (also spelled Nefertari), daughter of Seti I, and wife of Ramses II.
Nefertiti, on the other hand, is the wife of Akhenaten. VERY different Egyptian ruler, very different ideologies, very different everything. Also! Totally not brought up in the Mummy films!
Plus, y'know, making Evie a power-crazed bitch so you can hook up Rick and Imhotep really sucks. *eyeroll* I'm fairly sure you could come up with a way to hook them up without making Evie into a power-crazed bitch being controlled by Nefertiti from beyond the grave. Ugh. I think I'm about to leave my first negative Yuletide feedback ever.
