"What now?" asked John. He had one hand resting on Elizabeth's thigh, but the other held her hand in a grip so tight it almost hurt. Almost. Instead, it grounded her. It kept her in this moment, with John. She felt, for the first time since they'd returned to Atlantis, the sick fear start to dissipate. She'd lived with it every moment on Belka since their negotiations went sour.
Some days, that fear felt like it would be her constant companion. Not tonight, not any more.
"Stay the night," said Elizabeth. "We can talk in the morning."
I loved the calm, quiet ending to this. Thank you for sharing, it was well worth the wait.

I'm also glad the ending works! I was hoping it was a nice contrast to the wackiness and snark before that, not that it was a disconcerting 180 degree turn.

I haven't seen one ep of Eureka. Another show I have to put on my watch list, which is cool! Right now I'm in love with "Bones".

Eureka is also awesome, and full of the really good crack. I predict that you'll adore Allison from the beginning. Also! Many amazing and well rounded female characters!

I love that it's kind of the odd-team-out group! There's Cadman! Snarking at and with Ronon! I didn't know I wanted to read that until I did, and there it was! (!!!!! just to abuse the exclamation mark some more.)
I love that you wove all the girls in there like that and had them being awesome at their jobs. Plus, Elizabeth breaking John out of jail, which is just twelve kinds of awesome. THANK YOU SO MUCH for this story! It was great!

It was SUCH A CHORE for me to work competent women into a fic. REALLY. I hate writing Teyla and Laura and Elizabeth (and mentioning Kate), and it's SUCH A PAIN for me to write Elizabeth talking her way through a breakout.
Why are you laughing at me? Hee!
In all seriousness, I'm very glad you liked this!
