Have I mentioned I love those two? Have I mentioned that good Daniel/Janet fic can be hard to find? And that izzildor wrote great Daniel/Janet this morning, and it sent me into a tizzy of reccing?

Go and read this! This story has instantly become one of my favorites out of the alien-influenced sex genre. There's snark, there's nakedness, and there's the reason why storage closets are more popular than anyplace else for clandestine nookie.

If you haven't read everything that Red has ever written in her entire ficwriting career, you should. One of the things I love about her writing is that she infuses all her characters with human realism. They're cranky, they gripe, they have flaws and bad days, just like the rest of us, and their generous natures and love for each other comes across just as clearly. Oh, yes, and this story is about Cassie's first Christmas after she turns sixteen.
Half a Fairytale by nikej [G]
I know it's fluff, and I don't always do fluff, but there are some hilarious moments in Daniel taking Teal'c, Janet, and Cassie to a Panto. (Of which I know next to nothing, being incredibly American. But dear God, they sound awesome. I may have to hunt one up when the kidlet gets old enough to handle a show.)
Try Until You Can't by yviwriting [G]
Daniel and Janet go out with Sam and Cassie, and Yvi deals with the fact that Sha're is out there with a child, and that Daniel has a desperate longing for family. It starts out looking fluffy, and ends up with a hint of melancholy, but it's worth the sad notes because it's such a lovely piece.
The Sea With Its Deepness by pellucid [PG]
SG-1 goes missing on a mission. Janet copes. So does Cassie. But coping with the danger that SG-1 goes into on a regular basis takes a lot of strength. This story shows Janet's inner strength, and her worries, and how she never, ever (well, almost never) lets it show.
Things The Camera Missed by grav_ity [PG]
It's post-Heroes fic that has me teary-eyed, and it's not necessarily Daniel/Janet fic so much as fic where SG-1 and Cassie try to fit themselves into the spaces made by Janet's death.
Revivere by pellucid [PG]
You really have to love the rare Heroes fix-it fics that make it seem like it's all going to be okay. It's nice, and it's comforting, and that's what makes this one good.

You can't imagine that Janet's first offworld mission with SG-1 went without incident, can you? Can you really?

Vicki manages to take the step of a baby Daniel doesn't know about without the rather cliched outbursts and declarations of hatred, etc. They're two people who make a series of mistakes, but there's still love there. Also, bonus on the Sam and Janet friendship, and the Jack and Janet friendship.

Daniel and Janet, in a post-Heroes AU where Janet survives, but is injured. Short, sweet, and Janet's teeth-grinding levels of frustration with being injured hovers just beneath the surface, but it does well to mitigate what could be cloying 'taking care of Janet' fic.

It's the story of how they got together, and how she grieved for him, and finally, after all of that, how Janet may be on the periphery to SG-1 as a team, but she's never on the periphery to Daniel.
