Tale of Many Journies

Lately I've been to a lot of different places. It's been rel nice not seeing my little cube here at work much. Here's where I've been:

Savannah
I just got back from here last night. Did not like. Savannah is a dying city being eaten by an apocalypse that is the modern world. (I spent the first evening alone in my hotel room, does it show). I didn't like what I saw driving into the place and couldn't forge ahead using Google street view to assure my safety so I think I only got about 4 blocks away from my hotel. I would have been willing to go much further if I wasn't alone or had a can of mace but alone in Savannah it is not work the risk to go down that questionable street. I did however in those few short blocks find VanGoGo's pizza which was REALLY good pizza. Sitting room is pretty much all outside on account that the inside is around 120 degrees F due to the lack of air conditioner and the abundant pizza ovens. My pizza was made with a lack of blood and tears but I at least got the sweat part. Don't worry, it all sanitizes in the oven!
I also made it over to Hilton Head to visit a college buddy of mine. Good thing to because I hadn't realized he had graduated putting me at risk for never seeing his sarcastic ass again. He was able to find us a great restaurant for me to charge the bill to the company for (love this working perks stuff). Then we shot off some fireworks because that's just plain fun.
This trip was for an EPRI feedwater heaters seminar. It was really good for a new engineer such as myself but I don't know how much the old guys got out of it.

Charlotte
I was here last Tuesday. I like Charlotte. Nice pretty city which is now on Google street view. I swear my love to this program on account that I can see how slummy the area around a hotel or area I want to walk through is before committing.

Destin, Florida
I was here 2 weeks ago. Family and I got here all the time. It was a lot of fun as always: seafood, jet skis and floating on a raft. I had a blast. James came back purple.

So yeah, so far that's been my summer other than the work that's tied in between and the occasional shopping trips with the girls. James has enjoyed being spared the humanity of it all.
