Here we are on the second day of the new year, and it is time to set my new resolutions. I hope I do better this year then I did last year. 2008 was a very depressed year for me and I feel like I wasted a lot of my time. In 2009 I hope to change that. So here are my resolutions:
1.Stop Chewing! With the assistance of some yucky tasting stuff, I hope to make chewing on my cuticles and finger nails a thing of the past. I have had this bad habit for years and I am ready to be a grown-up and get over it.
2.Start being a tidy person. I always get behind on my housework and then I let it overwhelm me...I procrastinate, I don't leave myself time in my day, I make it low priority. And then I stress. So this is the year I convert from a cluttered mess into someone who keeps a tidy house.
3.Make Art. I have so much inspiration that I ignore and never express. I call myself an artist, so now it is time to be one. If I want to illustrate Children's books, that will take hard work and dedication. I also want to set up an art website and maybe start selling work again.
4.Lose ten pounds. Last year with Weight Watchers I lost 20, and have put on a couple again. I have to lose ten more to make the goal I set. Then I need to maintain it.
5.Exercise.At least three times a week. I have no excuses not to, since my work schedule is so open. Gotta tone the tummy once and for all. Also, as I get further and further into adulthood, I don't want to risk certain health conditions.
6.Replenish our savings. Buying a new car, as well as some other expenses caused us to dip into our savings accounts more than we should have. We also spent money far too frivolously this year. We talked about this last night and we both agree that our debit cards have made it too easy to spend without thinking about it first.
7. Take good care of my skin. wash it everyday, stop going to bed with my makeup on, and use the products my skin type needs. I am sick of still breaking out all the time at my age.
8. Broaden my world view and start seriously planning our trip. We have been hoping to take a trip to either Ireland or Germany since we got married and this year I want to get serious about saving the money we will need and planning the trip itself. We need to learn more about where we want to go and what we want to see, and gather resources.
9. Apply to the LIS Master's program and hopefully enroll for the fall. I have finally decided to get more schooling this year, and I want to get my Master's in Library Science with UMA online.
10. Start planning to buy a house. We will go back to meet with the Homeowner's Assistance people to see what we qualify for in terms of financing, and then start planning, saving, and researching so that within the next couple of years we can make the step to owning our own place.
Wish me luck!
