I just happened upon Alexander McQueen's last collection. I'd never seen it. I had made the decision to not look at it after he died because it was sad and I didnt want to be sad when I saw it and have all that sadness cloud my ~fashion judgements~. It's been a year(ish?) and it's still so incredibly unbelievable that he's gone.
But then I realized that not looking at it was stupid. Its been a year and that's a long frickin time, and it's not like I knew him personally or anything so I shouldn't act like he and I were bffs and this collection was dedicated to me or something. I'm not ~hurt~ by what happened. It's terribly sad, dont get me wrong, but any feeling deeper than general remorse should be reserved for his close family and friends. I'm a big ole nobody who'd only discovered him relatively recently!
With that being said, after looking at his final masterpeice, I can honestly say this collection was wonderful. It was strong and very thoughtful.
Typical McQueen.

I think I'm gonna be gay and dedicate my Historical Geology paper (about Complex Life on Erff) to him! To go from the Cambrian Explosion to Fashion Week is phenom! But seriously, it was an amazing last collection.
I guess that's all from me now.
