Video 002

May 01, 2010 12:09

[At first the video seems to be displaying a whole lot of nothing save for the sky above until a hand obscures everything and then it shows...well...still not an awful lot to the untrained eye.  It shows a marked out court in the shape of a triangle or pyramid and then Kara comes into view properly, dragging one last goal into position before she marks out a small space in front of it.  Satisfied, she takes a seat, tossing a small ball, about the size of a miniature football up in the air with a smirk on her face.]

So, anyone here into sports? There's a game where I'm from called Pyramid. You can see why it gets that name, right?

[She gestures to the court behind her.]

The aim of the game is to get the ball into one of the goals at the top of the pyramid. You can play one on one or in teams, teams are normally about eight people but, as you can tell from court size, you switch in and out. You can make no more than three paces without passing, shooting or rebounding the ball off one of the walls.

[There's an almighty bang as she throws the ball against one of the walls (the lower part of the goal) and hurries to grab it.]

This is a full contact sport guys and as soon as you get tackled, you don't have a choice and you have to pass the ball. One on one...well let's just say that the strongest wins. I'm not a frakking referee. Most points wins and because I'm not a ref and I won't always be here, you can set your own time limits for it.

[She points out each goal in turn and tosses the ball into one of the goals, getting up to retrieve it. She then points to a line in front of the goal that creates a small space between it and the rest of the court.]

This is called the neutral zone. If you're in the neutral zone, everyone else has to back off and not make contact. You want anymore details then just ask. My name is Kara Thrace or you can call me Starbuck. The court is in Somni, in the industrial district near my apartment and if anyone wants a practice game or lessons or whatever, contact me. The court is free for use as long as you bring your own gear and you don't trash it; if anything gets damaged you let me know, got that?

[And with that, she clicks the Dreamberry off.]

[[ooc: Image under the cut to spare your pages. If you need more details then don't be afraid to ask me for them or for the link to the BSG wiki to check the page out for yourself. And when I say football, I mean a soccer ball for the people who call them that.]]
