Title: You and Me, Baby
Characters: Kara Thrace, Sam Anders
Time Period: Kara and Sam's wedding reception (2014)
Summary: Sam is super drunk and super in love.
Sam leaned back in his chair, his arms full of his wife in her little black dress. His wife, he delighted in saying that, his love, in the tattoo that marked them across flesh and bone. He could feel the cool disc of metal with her name resting under his shirt. Sam beamed at Kara, the pounding music and chatter from their guests a sweet roar in the background. She leaned in and stroked his cheek gently, her other hand resting on his stomach, one finger slipping between the buttons to touch his skin. (His breathing got a little quicker. Her smile widened hungrily.) "Wanna do some shots and go mingle, Mr. Thrace?"
He wove his fingers into her messy blond ponytail and tugged her in for a kiss before answering. He could smell the sandalwood and ginger perfume she'd dabbed on before they'd raced out to the limo. With his eyes closed, he could pretend, just for a minute, that they were alone. Later there would be nothing between them. Maybe they'd use that in-room hot tub. He opened his eyes and gazed at her. "Bring it, Mrs. Anders."
Kara cackled and waved a waiter over. The small black diamond earrings Sam had given her earlier sparkled under the lights as she gestured. The nervous-looking young redhead nodded in acknowledgment when she demanded two shots of tequila with salt and lime. As the server fled, Sam slid one hand past Kara's knee, brushing his fingertips over her well-muscled thigh. In return, she tugged off his suit jacket and dropped it on a nearby chair. "We're wearing too many clothes, Sammy. It's our party, godsdammit!"
There was a polite cough nearby and a tray appeared with their shots. Sam broke eye contact with Kara to smile his thanks, then handed over a salt-crusted shot and wedge of lime. "Down the hatch!"
In unison, they licked the salt--Sam watching Kara's tongue as she ground her ass into his lap--then slammed their shots and bit into their fruit. Sam coughed a little as it went down his throat. Kara leaned in and licked his Adam's apple as he swallowed; her hair, freed of its pins, fanned across his chest. He dropped his glass on the table and took a deep, happy breath. He'd lost track of how much he'd drank so far and he didn't care. Kara looked clear-eyed and ready to take on the worlds as she ever was. "Let's dance!"
