JUST ANOTHER EXAMPLE THAT NOTHING GOOD COMES FROM TEXAS!!!!
The following is an excerpt from an email I just received from my stepmom. It's in regards to her brother that just recently died, his name was Robbie:
"I went back to Texas last week to empty Rob's apartment and meet with a medical lawyer. Cousin Dick had someone contact this lawyer before we got there to see if he could find out any info about why the doctor won't sign the death certificate and possibly what the real story might be.....what he found out was very disturbing and almost unbearable for me to hear. According to a "reliable" source (his words), Rob's death was caused by a nurse giving him an IV of a drug that's only to be given to a patient on a ventilator - Rob wasn't on a ventilator and consequently this drug totally paralyzed him causing his organs to fail one by one. He explained that it would have been very painful for Rob as he was conscious but paralyzed and unable to do anything. Evidently the hospital knows this to be the case as the lawyer also found out that this nurse has been placed on administrative leave. The lawyer firmly believes Rob should still be alive, in fact, he said the primary surgeon thought Rob would be discharged that weekend. Also, while all the results from the autopsy aren't in, Rob's heart was fine after surgery - no blocked arteries, no blood clots, no stroke, nothing wrong there. He's offered to take this case, but only a parent, child, or spouse can file a wrongful death lawsuit in Texas so the Chief would have to initiate. I didn't tell the Chief all the details, I just told him that Rob was given some bad medicine and we have to make certain that they don't do that to someone else's son."
As an FYI, the chief is Patty and Robbie's dad, And Cousin Dick is Dick Clark, the CEO of Merck Pharmaceuticals.
