*She pulls into Jack's driveway and parks. She gets Rachel out of her carseat and settles the little girl on her hip as she walks to the front door and gives a firm knock*
No. You're right on time. My timing just a little off since my cooker decided not to work. [Laughs] You'd think I'd be able to get one that works with the amount of money I have.
[He smiles at Rachel] You're even more beautiful than you're mommy, aren't you?
[He stepped aside to let them into the house. The table is already set and a high chair for Rachel is sitting by it.]
*Watches him run off to the kitchen, then shrugs and reaches down to take Rachel's hand*
Let's go explore while Jack finishes supper, okay? *She walks around slowly, letting Rachel get comfortable. After a moment, Rachel notices the high chair and toddles toward it, holding her hand up and making a grabbing motion*
Hungry already? *She laughes and calls out* Jack, do you have some crackers I can give Rachel?
[Smiles at her and opens his mouth and then the beeper goes off] Saved by the beep!
I'll be right back.
[And he comes back with two plates and a small bowl of food. He places the bowl and a plate infront of Lisa and one by himself.] That bowl's for Rachel but I wasn't sure how you would give it to her.
*She gets a bib for Rachel from the diaper bag and fastens it around her neck before she can make a mess of her clothes.*
It smells great. *She takes a seat and takes a few bites of food from the bowl. She makes sure it's cool enough and in small enough pieces, then simply sets it right on the highchair tray. Well, it's all going to end up there anyway....*
*Rachel watches Jack curiously for a moment, then finally shoves the bite of food in her mouth and reaches for another on her highchair tray*
A lot of times I just make one plate for both of us to eat from, so I guess she thinks she needs to share with everyone. *Cuddy shrugs, smiling, and takes a bite of her own meal* She doesn't quite understand that most people don't want food she's squished up in her hand.

*She nods at her daughter* This is Rachel. And Rachel, this is Jack. *Rachel simply stares curiously at him*

*She sets Rachel down and pulls her coat off. Rachel immediately wraps her arms around Cuddy's leg, cautiously looking around.*
She'll be fine. It just takes her a moment to get comfortable in a new place. *She pulls her own coat off* Is there anything I can do to help?

[Keeps smiling at the little girl before hearing a sound in the kitchen.]
That didn't sound good. But yes, you can help by not looking in the kitchen.
[He flashed her a grin and ran back to check on the meal.]

It won't be long. Just waiting for the rice to boil.

*She lifts Rachel into the highchair. She opens the crackers and gives one to Rachel. Cuddy steps back and looks at Jack*
Sure there's nothing I can do to help?

So is this one of your own creations?

It's a creation within a creation. I had to modify it to be suitable for Rachel.

*She manages to take a couple bites of her meal before Rachel leans over, holding out her hand in which she's got a bite of her own meal*
Thank you, honey, but Mommy has her own food.
*Rachel stares at Cuddy's plate for a moment, then turns and offers the bite to Jack*
