Hi! I'm so glad that I found this community. I despise character bashing, and I find that my favourite characters are often the ones that are bashed the most within the fandom.

Kikyou from Inuyasha. She must be the most hated character in that series. There are dozens and dozens of fics written for the sole purpose of bashing her, and that really pisses me off. I don't think the Inuyasha story line would be half as interesting without Kikyou. She lends depth to Inuyasha's character. Also, I don't understand how people cam love Kagome and hate Kikyou. They're technically the same person.

Jaken from Inuyasha. He's a cranky, obsequious little toad demon who gets bonked on the head a lot. What's not to love?

Allen Shezar from Escaflowne. His character development is one of my favourite things about this series. I love how there's reasons for his playboy behaviour with Hitomi and Millerna because of his past. I really like how we learn about this little by little. Poor Allen almost always gets bashed by fangirls who watch the show just to drool over the pretty boys. His character is almost always slaughtered in fanfiction, even by authors whose work is otherwise terrific. He's a flawed character, and that's what makes him interesting.

Hitomi Kanzaki from Escaflowne. I've said this before, and I'll say it again; just because a woman can't kick ass in a sword fight does not make her weak. I think Hitomi shows great strength of character throughout the series. If I was bombarded by bloody images of my friends being slaughtered in an armageddon, I'd freak out a little too. The girl's love for another person managed to save an entire planet. Let's give her a little credit.

Zongi from Escaflowne. A fascinating character who I wish they'd explored more.

Seras Victoria from Hellsing. I adore Seras. She's my favourite character in the whole damn series, and it pisses me off royally when people write her off as a bimbo simply because she's got large breasts. Okay, they're there. Now, grow up, people! Seras is NOT weak. She was the only female member of D-11 which was an elite military unit. Her parents died when she was young, and she's not from a wealthy family, so I'm assuming she managed to put herself through the police academy. She's extremely intelligent. She figured out what captain Stetra was up to all by herself. Alucard told her she was on the right track, but she was the one who put all the clues together. She put Jan Valentine in a headlock (love that scene). Also, she doesn't mindlessly obey Alucard. If that were true, Seras would have been gulping down blood and killing without remorse from day one. Instead, she fights hard to retain her compassion and humanity. Seras is also one of the only charaters to ever stand up to Sir Integral ("I'm not like that."). All in all, Seras is a kick ass lady with a damn cool gun.

Ah, that ranting felt good! Thanks for listening!
