I was completely unaware that my last post was the first
hated_character post of 2009.
Here's to a year free of bashing!
Also, my list of favorite characters that get the short end of the fandom stick. Keep in mind I haven't been in fandom for five years mostly because I was scared off from bashers and mean people in general.

Sorted by series. )
Joey's not hated as much as Téa is (though his dub version is probably more bashed), but he has arguably the worst characterization in the fandom. He's such an uke that he puts Harlequin romance heroines to shame. That's one of the biggest things that turned me off from Puppyshipping fics. That, and they'd probably file the divorce papers as soon as they'd cut the cake. And even if he did like Kaiba in that way, from the way he was drooling at Mai in the anime and when he flipped skirts and harassed the girls in swimming class in the manga, he wouldn't just wait around hoping that Kaiba likes him--he'd just try to grab his balls to distract him during an argument.
Also disturbing is the YGO/YGOGX/YGO5Ds war.
I like some Disney, just not the really old princess movies and the stuff that's out now. I'm actually more of a Dreamworks fan. I really liked the themes of teamwork and friendship within the Disney worlds, and the relationship between King Mickey and Riku. Roxas and Demyx aren't really hated (except by jealous fanboys), but I swear, they get it worse than Joey does in the fandom. And speaking of YGO, my love for Téa helped me like Kairi, since they're very much alike.
Also, I used to be a rabid Ash-hating, Rocketshipping fangirl when I was younger. Actually, before that, I hated Jessie and Misty. Then I liked Jessie only because of Rocketshipping and Misty because of that Tentacool episode. And then I hated May for 'replacing' Misty. I haven't seen too much of Dawn and/or Zoey, so I can't say much for them. I still like Rocketshipping, but I like Jessie a lot more. And sometimes, I'll even slash James with one of the cute gym leaders.
There's another series I'm into, but I'm not sure if there's any bashing in it or not... Full Moon wo Sagashite is really cute, kinda tragic. It has a fanlisting, but I'm not really sure about the rest of its community.
