I found this lovely little place thanks to

Let's go back in time, shall we? Once upon a decade past, I and my best friend, Rebecca, utterly despised the entire G.I.Joe comics cast. Her younger brother, Ian, was a rabid reader/collector of the comics, much to our elitist dismay. So we decided to do something about it. We began writing fanfics! At the tender age of 13, no less. What were the purpose of our two 'fics (one for me, one for her)? We planned to kill them all off! Bwahahaha!
...but there was a problem. In order to write them, we had to know what we were writing about, and we've always been extremely anal when it comes to accuracy and details...which meant...research! I'm sure you know what happened next...
The more we read, and the more we got to know the characters, and the more we got into their heads...we actually started liking them! Finally, we were both as rabid about getting our hands on Ian's latest copy as he was. He learned his best bet for survival was to get his parents to take him to the comic store...without us...and read it on the way home. ::snicker::
That's always been my downfall. When
jchaos first started playing Devil May Cry, and was telling me about the characters, my reaction to Trish was "somebody kill that little twit!" Imagine my dismay when J wanted to bring the characters into our RPG, and wanted to keep Dante and Trish paired off, and wanted me to play Trish! O_o
Now Dante/Trish is my OTP (I don't even have an OTP in my primary fandom!), and I get snarly when somebody disses her.
I could not stand Amelia from The Slayers when I saw the first and second season (we didn't have TRY yet, so I only got to see the first two at that time) and she annoyed the hell out of me. But of course, guess who got stuck RPing her when we started bringing them out for RP? Remember me mentioning I'm anal about detail? I had to write up a profile for her -- personality and all -- and even if I can't stand a character, I value my integrity as an RPGer too much to take a cop-out exist and write up a bash profile.
Now I'm rabidly protective of her, and adore her immensely, as she's my favorite female Slayer, second only to Filia.
You might think this makes me more tolerant of those poor, deluded souls out there who find nothing better to do than to rip into characters they don't like, but given how most of their arguments are based off who they think should be shagging whom like a rabid mink in heat... surely you jest. I rip into character bashers with the same passion that they rip into their hated characters -- only with better quality snark, sarcasm, grammar, and intelligence. ^_^
Now, Jonathan Creek is on BBCAmerica, I'm hungry, and my computer's lagging while I'm downloading updates, so that's all for now. ^_^
