Some short, small defenses...
My Pc isn't working too well, so I've chosen to post in this message some small defenses of characters that I constantly see either bashed, mistrepresented, or undeservedly ignored..
Fangirls, JJ has more to him than being the third wheel in the DeexRyo relationship. Yes, he has a HUGE crush on Dee and doesn't hide it. Yes, he's childish and immature when off-work. But when he's in work or is in more important situations, he CAN be serious. Second best sharpshooter in his district? A key to save Carol in volume 6? Yes, he's all of those. And Dee gets exasperated with him, but this doesn't mean he hates him.
And let me add. JJ GETS OVER DEE. He recognizes Ryo as Dee's partner in all senses, and now might get together with Drake Parker. Yep, JJxDrake is quite canon - the "Like, Like, Love" epilogue from the Monotone artbook says so. So, no reason to bash him to get the boy out of the way!

So she's not the sharpest tool? Well, she's just a 16-year-old, and has still plenty of time to learn more stuff.
So she's a stuck-up, rich bitch? If she *really* was that bad, she'd never be Ran's best friend and attend a public highschool, when in fact her super rich family can afford a private one and she seems to be "the little girl" of the Suzukis.
So, she doesn't like Conan a lot? Hey, she treats him as a kid - and in fact, so do the majority of people. Even Ran does - she thinks he's an innocent 7-year-old boy...
So she's flighty, childish and spoiled? Well - she's like that to make a good contrast to the motherly, level-headed and naîve Ran Mouri. It's something called "balance"
So she likes many guys? What's so bad aboutt it, I'll never know. Not to mention, she has a sort-of boyfriend named Makoto in the manga...
Give Sonoko some slack, people.

And yes, the Meer bashing increased since the airing of episode 21, which started with Meer sleeping in the same bed as Athrun and him freaking out. And a good part of the episode dealed with Meer hainging around Athrun and posing as Lacus, which PISSED Lunamaria Hawke (Athrun's female partner who has a sorta crush on the guy too).
I can STILL hear the "SLUT" calls from Athrun/Cagalli rabid fangirls... when in fact, we don't know if Athrun ever told Meer that Cagalli is his actual girlfriend. And actually, everyone thinks that Athrun and Lacus are STILL engaged... Meer included. She seems to be in mostly because she wants to help in the peace process, possibly brainwashed or tricked by Dullindal, and also wants to enjoy the feeling of being loved and recognized by others since no one really cared for her until then. Also, until now her crush on Athrun seems to come more from the fact that he was engaged to Lacus, the one she has worshipped for years. And now that she kinda IS Lacus... ho hum.
And ain't it a little... early to bash her, huh? We haven't even reached the first half of Destiny... At least wait 'til the damn end of the series, bitches!
