My Jap. professor gave us a pop quiz on hiragana yesterday and everybody freaked out. LOL. :D
Remember how I was rambling on and on about EliNini for absolutely no reason? Well, I have but one statement to sum up what I think about it: EW. Okay, so that was blunt. Everything was fine to me until I read their support conversations. Really just the A one. Why is Eliwood a big douche when he talks to women? It doesn't help that Ninian's constantly weepy and feeling sorry for herself. "Lord Eliwood, I-I've been deceiving you! *sobs*" "I love you. I've never felt this way about any other woman before." Wait. ...What? Just... what? No, really. What the fuck. I always thought Eliwood was a polite gentleman, and I'm not saying he isn't, but... when he's speaking to the women he supports, he just sounds like he's teasing them, like a... womanizer. X( At least Hector is still rude when he's with women. Ike is himself around girls (Actually, he's himself around anyone ^^;). Why does Eliwood have to sound like a major turd...? I get that he teases Hector because they're BFs BFF, but... Maybe he's just one big, fat, polite tease! ;__; IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! T__T
If I'm playing again, I'm never getting EliNini. Not because of everything I just said. Nils goes back alone to seal the gate, and "Those who saw him go will never forget his look of sorrow." DON'T ANYONE DARE MAKE HIM SAD, GOT IT? >8(
Oh, and Ninian dies shortly after giving birth to Roy. Isn't life just so fair?
LEGAULT/HEATH C RANK
LEGAULT: Is someone chasing you or something?
HEATH: Me?
LEGAULT: You're going to tire yourself out staying on guard all the time.
You look like a wyvern rider... you a deserter or something?
HEATH: Who... Who are you? Are you a spy from the king? Or are you one of
those Black Fang?
LEGAULT: Hey, relax. Yeah, I'm Black Fang, but--
HEATH: Gah!
HEATH: Huh? Where...
LEGAULT: Right here.
HEATH: How!? Knave!
LEGAULT: It's all right, it's OK. Let's calm down, OK? I'm Legault. I'm a thief,
formerly with the Black Fang. I've got no connection to the fellows
chasing you, so rest easy.
HEATH: ...What do you want?
LEGAULT: Nothing. You just looked so wound up... I thought I'd come over and
lighten your mood.
HEATH: It's none of your concern!
LEGAULT: Ah... Sorry. Thought I was being friendly, that's all.
B RANK
LEGAULT: Hey.
HEATH: Hm?
LEGAULT: Uh-oh. Looks like someone hates me. What a pity.
HEATH: You... Your name's Legault or something, right?
LEGAULT: Oh, so you remembered? Hey, can I ask you something? You look like a
wyvern rider, but... Why are you here?
HEATH: You know the answer to that without asking, don't you? I'm a deserter
from the knights of Bern.
LEGAULT: A deserter... So why'd you desert?
HEATH: Who knows... Maybe the plundering, the wholesale slaughter of innocent
people... Those are both part of a deserter's pedigree, are they not?
LEGAULT: No, not you. Your eyes aren't so corrupt. You have pride. Your eyes
tell me that you're sure what you do is right.
HEATH: Why...uh...
LEGAULT: Hm?
HEATH: Why are you here?
LEGAULT: Now that is a long story. Put simply...I'm like you... I fled from an
organization, too.
HEATH: Was it the Black Fang?
LEGAULT: Yep. I'm a fugitive, and you're a deserter. Looks like you and I were
made for each other.
HEATH: ...Speak for yourself.
A RANK
LEGAULT: Hey, Heath.
HEATH: Looks like you're still alive.
LEGAULT: Can't complain.
HEATH: Legault, what is it that you want from me?
LEGAULT: Hmm... One reason is self-interest. Whether I'm working in this army
or I'm dodging Black Fang pursuers, it makes sense to have a wyvern
rider close at hand. Few soldiers can match your ferocity on the field.
Of course, it does complicate matters that you are pursued.
HEATH: I imagine so. I'm being hunted by my homeland. There's a price on my
head. Being close to me isn't like lying in a bed of roses.
LEGAULT: The same is true of me as well. Many of the Black Fang would see me
dead if they could. Look, why don't we help each other out? Lend a
hand dealing with our respective foes?
HEATH: My enemy is the strongest army division on the continent. No matter
how you look at it, I'd say you're getting the short end of the stick.
Why would you agree to do all that for me?
LEGAULT: Hm? Must be this thing called "love", you know?
LEGAULT: Where are you going? I'm joking!! Get back here.
HEATH: .....
LEGAULT: Just let it go, all right? Come on, I like you. Even on the run,
you're true to your principles. You're recklessly honest. That's
from someone who simply cannot do that...
HEATH: .....
LEGAULT: Friendship between fugitives... What do you say?
HEATH: You're one weird guy...
"Borrowed" from
GameFaqs.
You don't have to even know who Legault and Heath are to freak out like I did. Just know that they are two guys. Men. Male. Now I understand Legault x Heath fangirls like I understand 2 + 3 = 5 before I read Decartes.
I always thought Jaffar & Nino was kinda cute. Er... I did get shaken up when Jaffar told Nino he loves her. (He's the last person to be capable of saying such words.) Nino gets kinda PMS-y when she thought he was "betraying" her. LOL. Of course, people are after Jaffar's head and he vanishes. Nino leaves her two adorable baby twins in the orphanage and disappears to find him. It's even better in the Erk & Nino ending because people are after her head, and she flees, Erk leaving to find her. Wow, they're all such horrible parents. XD
Lowen & Rebecca C support made me laugh. XD The child of theirs, their "green-haired son" with "his father's chivalrous spirit" and "his mother's smile and skill with a bow," just sounds so darling. ;u; It makes Lowen look like the one best suited to be the father of Rebecca's child. ^^
Rath x Wil... why have you stolen a piece of my heart~? <3
Point is, couldn't the conversations have been more subtle? I mean, most of them just go "I love you," or "Please stay by my side." Ending Narration: They get married and live happily somewhere and have a child. Okay, well, this game gets away with it because it's the prequel that "conceives" characters who already exist. It's just, most of the male & female relationships end with marriage, but their support conversations don't hint on anything more than friendship. *coughEliwood&Lyncough* I prefer my subtle, funny Path of Radiance conversations not overdone with romance, plz.
P.S. - My series of endless testing and experimentation point me to this conclusion: Ike is asexual. Thank you.
