Wedding on Saturday September 19 2015
kusanivy got married a couple weekends ago. I went to Ottawa with The Hubby and sonic_assassin. It was a fun Venetian carnival ceremony with a lot of songs from various Muppet movies, a favourite of the bride and groom. The bride wore a strapless dress and the groom wore a Renaisance costume. They both wore masks upon entering the room and removed them as a ceremonial baring of all to each other for all to see.
The post wedding entertainmnet while the couple went to get the photos done was a Victoria Sideshow couple Dr Mental Floss Sideshow with Dr Charlote Tan assisting.
The wedding reception had a photo both with various masks. Guests got a copy and a copy with a card was made for the bride and groom. We were at Table 13 with a Venom mask. Each table had a different mask. The Hubby had a surname change into my name. Funny! MC was a lawyer friend and she did a very good job. A lot of good and often fun stories about the bride and the groom.
The buffet was good, three diferent meat courses, verggies, potatoes, salads and condiments. The wedding cake was adorable, 3 layers with a panda in a tux (groom) and a turtle in a wedding dress (bride) on the top. This was cut with a cutlass sword.
The music for the dancing was mostly from the 80's and from various genre movies and series. There were board games for those who are not inclined to dance. Caught with a lot of old friends and aquaintances, including the brides family. The parents had made the wine which I thnked them profusely. I gave a baby shower gift to her sister who is due in early November.
All in all had fun at a very geeky wedding.
The next morning went to the swimming pool. It was a wave pool and now I can see why they are fun but gives a good feel why large bodies of water are dangerous at times.
Our gift to the bride and groom were handmade aprons, one with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Maple Leafs.
