Spent the weekend in the country.
OMG! The colours of the trees is just breath taking. It's amazing the see the young trees dotting the swamps with spears of red, orange and yellow while the mature ones on the surrounding higher ground are still green. I have seen two fantastic mushrooms in various states of bloom and decay. And the frogs make quick to get away from me. I saw Mr. Chipmunk only once, I guess even he does not like to go out in the rain to forage for his winter stores.
My grandmother-in-law and I had a pleasant time. She told me more about family history, took a couple calls from family and watched TV. I try to imagine what life on this farm was like before electricity and television. We both napped on Sunday afternoon because I was still tired from the car break down on early Saturday morning.
I took Teddy for a couple of long walks. He has figured out that I like long walks in the country but I won't let him chase cars. And he is very eager to be groomed by me too. Luckily we avoided the rain during our walks. The calves still want to play with Teddy the dog but Mama Cows will not allow it.
So that was Saturday night and Sunday till I was taken home in the evening. My In-laws had a good time at their granddaughters 2nd birthday party in Toronto.
