They are beautiful to behold. Unfortunately, I don't see near as many living here in the south as I did in my days back in NYS.

It's funny because I've been seeing them around lately and I wondered when Monarch season was. I thought for some reason that it was earlier in the summer.

It's about this time of year they gather up to move south. I've seen them as late as October if the weather is good.

Are folks noticing any shifts due to climate change -- more predation? Less food?

Our biggest problem is farming. It seems cows get really sick form milk weed so it's killed on site/sight. They are pushing to have it's declared a weed in cities too. It's techinically illegal to have it growing on your property. Needless to say environmental groups point out our own backyard hypocracy vis a vis Mexico's illegal logging problems.
