Note to self so I do not forget: See if Land of the Lost is on DVD.
If there are any other cool old television shows you'd like to suggest, please do. Does anyone remember the cartoon "Dungeons and Dragons"? It was awesome.
So, I am now past my probationary period at work. I got a small raise and am now a real boy, Gepetto! I mean... a real employee.
Last week, my boss told me we were going to be taking over the marketing for the Freedom Festival. And by 'we', she means just the two of us. And by 'taking over the marketing', she means starting from scratch. Oh heavens. I'm a little scared.
So, today...
I was having a semi-busy day. Started off with a meeting, then went into trying to organize Freedom Festival stuff.
My biological mother emails and says she wants to do lunch on Thursday. Okay, fine. I'm not wild about it, but whatever. She HAS to do it this week so her daughter, my half-sister can come. And you know, that's nice, I'd like to, but it never really seems like Michelle wants to see me, and maybe that's just because we are SO different. But I tell her that Thursday's okay. So she emails back and says "Well, sorry, I am switching my days, I usually don't work on Thursday but I am now, can we do it tomorrow?"
That would be all right... but... she works for her husband. I know you have to be responsible or whatever, but... do you not get to take a lunch? You work... for your husband. As it turns out, here's my schedule tomorrow:
Working an event off-site from 7:30 - 10:30. Lunch meeting re: Freedom Festival at 11:30. Coworker birthday at 1:30. Downtown meeting at 3:00.
And once I figure all that out...
I find out that a product we had lined out for a promotion-- specifically, a 26,000 dollar boat-- was sold out from under our noses. My boss cursed a lot. The guy, when I called him, said:
"Oh. Yeah. Hey, about that? I sold all of those boats." Totally casual. Not even apologetic. Holy crap. I'm still worried about it, but we'll see if I lined stuff out in Owensboro or if I'm going to be making like Noah and building a boat.
SO now... frantic panic. Lots of it.
In other news... Dad's still trying to find out what's messing up his pancreas, Mom's doing fine. Grandma has stayed out of the hospital. Knock on wood.
And I miss everyone. The end!
