EAST COAST EXTRAVAGANZA!!!! The road trip of a life time! Long entry, I encourage you to read it all
Hahaha so there is NO way to fully explain how much fun Finney, Kathryn, and I had this weekend. I mean it was pure madness.. okay but im going to try a skotch.. so here goes.
So as SOME of you know.. its summer time.. and being random in the summer is a must. Try this on for random... These stories you will NOT believe!
So Aubrey, oh-so-wonderful-Aubrey, tells me before school got out that she has a tournament in Philly- The Crew Nationals Tournament - the weekend of the 13th and 14th and told me how it meant oh-so-much to her .. so I was like "okay ill go" and she laughed. I remember.. she laughed. Ouch. Oh yee of little faith.
So I come home and I kinda mention it to Kathryn, because Im going to need a riding partner because HELLO ha! its like 13 hours to Philly. She gives me a half arse answer so I was like.. eh whatev I know she'll end up wanting to go. So I mention it to Finney like.. Monday the 9th.. yes 4 day until the day OF the tournament.. she is all "hey.. yeah .. I might let me get back to you" So.. she does.. and we decided 4 days before .. that we are driving up to PA. I soon find out that my dearest friend Emily Holdorf and her Crew team will be there as well.. WHAT?! Thats like a frickin bonus! haha. So then Kathryn is all "hey.. im coming" like 2 days before the trip.. and Finney and I are all like.. pshh... HECK YES! SO!
Wednesday the 11th we all got together and made Tee-shirts of support for our friends, why? PSH! Yeah you know. And they were frickin awesome.. Finney's struggled at first but you know it got better haha.
OKay so now for the trip.. just to let you know.. we had NOTHING planned until the day we left and even then the only thing we had planned was that we were sleeping in Finney's house (which we didnt know if it would have running water or electricity) and that philly was 3 hours from her house but we didnt even know where the races were. We are WINGING EVERYTHING.. haha that was the theme of the trip. "Hey you know.. we're winging it!" because nothing can go wrong when you wing it!
So I get up at 5am on thursday. Finney picks me up at 6am. We get Kathryn at 6:30.. only ger alarm didnt go off cuz she is stupid.. very.. so we had to sit around and wait on her.
Okay so the drive there? FLAWLESS. 85 to 95 all the way to VA. We had a few interesting things happen on the way there: The midget-lover, Sergio, Me jogging in traffic, my smelly shirt, the white trash people Finney and I had a brawl with, you know.. nothing short of anything else we do. haha so..We went to Finney's house for next year at Mary Washinton!! YAY! It was a cute cute house. So we brought in our stuff cooled the house down a little and decided to play a little LaX. Then Kathryn and I decided to throw the softball around.. mmmm.. that was amazing.. until well.. I hit kathryn in the shin, she hit me in the foot and she almost took out the back window of a jeep.. haha we were getting intense so we decided to stop and get some dinner. So we drove around like chickens with their heads cut off because the MWU road system.. SUCKS. We to "Tia's" I think it was called where we had a.. how do I put this.. "special" waitor. lol we couldnt understand his mumbled spanglish and I repeated my order 3 times slower than christmas uphill and he still got it wrong.. and we didnt even know his name! lol. So that was an experience. Then we went to Walmart because Finney wanted a hat. ?? But we get there and find these wooden paddles.. and haha being the AMAZING creative people we are we bought 3 and some sharpies and decided we wanted to decorate them for the races! haha I know.. we're losers.. and we love it.
Get back to Finney's house and realize we have water AND electricity HECK YES. So we plug in a TV, watch Charlie's Angels and decorate our paddles. It was good times. Then we were tired around 10 haha so we started to pass out. Finney was CRUNCHED on a small small couch, and kathryn and I were on sleeping bags on the hardwood floor. Ouch. that wasnt cool. So we got up at like.. the bum crack of dawn because Philly is 3 hours away and Aubrey's race is at like.. 12 something.. SO we left, got some breakfast and were on our way.. Funny thing was.. we didnt even know where we were going. We map quested Philadelphia before we left.. but.. NOT where the races were... just Philly in general. hahahaha MORONS! WINING IT! Anyways.. so we get into Philly.. and I call Aubrey and she says its called DadVail Regatta (spelling? anyone?) so.. I was like.. "lets just ask someone who looks knowledgeable where it is!" so I was like HIM! FINNEY PULL OVER!! haha SO I yell to this man "EXCUSE ME!! DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE DADVAIL REGATTA IS?!" .. frickin jackpot thank you very much. The man was all about the Dad Vail Regatta. Told us where to go and all kinds of info. It was amazing. I mean.. imagine.. just some random man in the MIDDLE of Philly.. and I landed him for info. Heck yes. And the thing is.. Finney was just driving around going on instinct and the child had gotten us to where we only had to make 2 turns. Nice move Finney.. nice move. So Philly is gorgeous. Honestly its amazing. Like something out of a book. ANYWAYS.. next.
So we get there.. This place is Crew-Team-Madness! Boats and peoplein unis EVERYWHERE it was.. intense. Finney, Kathryn, and I instantly fell in love with it. We get there with time to spare. haha we park it in the grass and had to walk a lil ways but its all good. Haha "you cant bring those in there" --"thats okay becaus youre all going to die.. yeeeeessssssss im going to blow up the whole freaking place.. muwahaha" (JOKES all JOKES between the 3 of us haha) So we get down to this place.. and we dont even know what day it is. Seriously its just crazy. We were just 3 lil girls with pretty paddles.. lost. but this whole time Aubrey and I have been back-and-forthing it on the cellular so that I would understand what to do when we got there.. I thought I understood.. .. yeah.. not so much. lol. So I look at finney and I am like "She said something about a band stand.. lets find that" .. well its CALLED and GRAND stand.. hah.. my bad *embarassed face* haha so when we ask someone where the band stand was.. it was a funny little conversation.. good thing we got that straigtened out.. I would hate it if I said "band stand" to more than one person. haha yeah im a loser.. anyways. So we're walking towards the GRAND stand and we ran into Aubrey's dad and her friend Val. Chitter-chit-chatter-chat and a "see ya later" and we were on our way again to the GS (shortening if FYI) So we get there 5 years later.. and we go sit down .. somewhat behind the rest of the RMU crew team.. and then Nelly looked back on accident I think it might have been the paddles .. but yeah.. anyways.. she kinda gives me this weird look.. so what do I do? Hello.. Im Hart.. So I TOTALLY gave her a big loser type wave and a goofy smile. then you see her kinda whisper to her team mates and they ALL look back.. way to be obvious.. and they all had this faces like "what in the hey-ho are you doing here" .. they invite us to come andsit with them.. and they were like "So you drove all the way from school to come watch" .. and we were like "umm actually we drove all the way from Georgia to come watch" haha.. that made for some interesting looks and conversation. What can I say? They were honestly just jealous because they dont have friends like Aubrey. True Story. Anyways.. so the race.. wow. I have never been so nervous about something like this.. i mean like.. I know how hard she and her boat have been working so I am all wanting them to do well. So they are rowing their little hearts out and they looked good doing it.. and they placed 2nd which is amazing and means they get to move on to the next level which is semi finals I think... maybe? Finals? I dunno. big stuff tho ill tell you that. Lots of cheering whenit comes to crew. Intense. Anyways so you could see the excitement from Aubs as they crossed the "line". So we just started walking to where all the boats are because they had to take their boat out of the water. we walked for 5 days and 5 nights and then like outta nowhere a girl from her team was passing me and recognized me and said hey and then outta nowhere AUBREY came and jumped on me and gave me the biggest hug .. im pretty sure that I have ever recieved. Yeah. Pretty much. *big smiles* She was really excited about everything and was ... frantically trying to take it all in.. and it just wasnt working out for her.. Kathryn and I were sure her head was going to explode. haha. So we didnt really get to hang out with her much cuz after like 15 mins of that she left with her team. TIME TO WATCH EMILY!
So we had 3 hours before Emily's race. So we ate and layed down by the river side to take a napper... and in the middle of that we hear ::CLICK CLICK CLICK:: we were like.. what the hey.. and these people talking behind us.. and then all of a sudden there was a lady in my face.. and she was like "SORRY TO BOTHER YOU!" as I pee'd myelf... she asked me my name and who I was there to support.. Told her then she asked finney and Kathryn the same.. and thenjust.. like.. left. Lol. I flagged her down and asked her what that was for and she said the Philadelphia Enquier.. I was like.. oh.. sweet. haha.. So we watched Emily's race! Man 8 boats are huge! Emily can yell like woah!! But.. alas.. they didnt place so they were out. Sadness. So we went and met upwith her and she was sad.. but happy to see us. So we hung out for a few showed em our paddles and you know they thought we were amazing for making the journey. We know. lol jk. So then we were hugary again decided to meet up with Aubrey for dinner. She had already eaten but we were going to kidnap her anyways. but we had to hurry because we had a 3 hour trip home ahead of us. So we .. got lost.. and of COURSE everytime I drive there is traffic... dagum... anyways.. so we FINALLY found the hotel.. and there was much rejoicing.. YAY!.. So we turned on the "100% Dance" CD and started to jam out and then out came Aubrey from the hotel. We were excited. and She was all about our 90's dance music. So we went to McDonalds. Mmmm fine american dining. haha. So we had a really really good time. Aubrey and Kathryn and Finney enjoyed each others company which made me just about the happiest person in the world. No, yeah, I was. We laughed the whole time.. but witha crowd like that.. how could you not? Kathryn is stupid.. she made a ketchup explode on her.. stupid Kathryn. haha. just thought I would throw that in there. So then we gave Aubrey a surprise we tried to give her earlier.. and.. needless to say im positive that.. She loved it. I mean.. Who doesnt love Me and Kathryn dancing to "BE MY LOVA" 90's dance music?!?! Hello?! No one. Man it was really really good to see Aubrey.. I missed her a whole lot. *HUGE smile*
So we go to take her back.. and I cant reveal EVERYTHING that transpired that night.. but lets just say.. Operation Sleep over was a sucess.. and wearing the same clothes for 2 days straight isnt THAT big of a deal and the Crew team is a bunch of sneaky YET extremeley nice people. THANK YOU! haha. ANyways.. woke up the next morning REALLY early her race was at like 7 something this time.. so yeah. Got a little lost again on the way there and ended up in New Jersey for a hot second and had to pay a toll just to get back in Philly but hey .. that stemmed us to our later plans lol. So we went. Watched... and they.... didnt win. They did well.. but.. didnt advance. Sadness. So then We started walking towards theie place again but this time we caught them on their way to their spot carrying the boat.. haha got to see Aubrey in her Uni... hahaha. NICE.. very nice. Def uni-butt... the 3 of us decided.. funniest thing? She didnt know we were following her so.. haha yeah. Funny. So yeah then they put the boat down and she gets dressed.. and finds us.. we informed her of her uni-butt and she wasnt happy with the fact that we saw her in her uni.. but C'est la vie. hahaha. So we hung around while they packed up. Played around a little. OH OH OH and on the walk over there someone from the UGA crew team stopped us and told us we were in the paper.. HAHAHAHA YESSSSSSsssssssssssa! We voted ourselves officially the most amazing fans. haha We made a 1/4 page picture with caption withour names and everything! haha. we rock. ANyways.. said g'bye to Aubrey.. totally sad. Then walked around for a few ate, saw Emily again.. and then kathryn was like "you know since we hit New Jersey this morning we should hit all the East Coast States..." Finney and I dubed her a moron and kept walking.. Then.. we thought about it a little more.. Why not? haha so we decided to do just that!
Then headed on into Philly to get lost a little.. then got on 95 north and just started driving. Stopped and got a map. Decided our route to Maine.. hahaha and got on our way.. stopped got a phone charger and then 30mins into our trip Finney's dad informed us that we didnt have enough miles until the lease was up on Finney's car .. so we couldnt go to Maine... dangit.. but you KNOW we were going to! haha. We didnt have ANY of our stuff and NOWHERE to sleep but .. hello.. WINGING IT! haha. So anyways.. we settled for going to NYC and eating lunch with her (finneys) Dad. Finney is now the ULTIMATE driver.. and the BEST NYC driver ever. So fierce! We were all cracked out by then.. so EVERYTHING was funny. We had spent over a days time the car... had been wearing the same clothes for 2 days.. hadnt brushed our teeth since the morning before.. hadnt had a "real" meal in .. who knows how long.. and had been up since like 5. haha. So we were insane. Went and ate lunch and it was splendid. THEN we got stuck in traffic on the way out of NYC for seriously.. almost 2 hours. Haha Finney was about ready to kill someone.. and Kathryn and I were about ready to kill each other.. haha not seriously but I hate her. I hate Kathryn June Bowen. haha We were having good times with the video camera. Got out of NYC and went back to VA I was sick.. I had been getting sick all weekend. And it hit me Saturday afternoon. lol. eh.. I wanted to die. Anyways. So back to the hardwood floors.
Woke up. Packed up. And left for home! haha. I was sick so I slept half the way and drove the other half. Nothing REALLY interesting happened on the way home.. I hit traffic.. why? Because there is traffic EVERYTIME I drive lol. Anyways.. so.. Got home and that was that. haha.. Im not going to lie.. I felt we had been gone for HONESTLY at least a week. The amount of stuff we did and that happened was madness. Im sure I didnt even hit all the highlights.. and I mean the three of us were CONSTANTLY laughing about everything so.. it was 24/7 fun. It was the most amazing road trip I have ever been on. 2 of my closest friends, going to awesome places, chillin w/ Aubrey and gettin that big hug, seeing Emily in her element, WINGING it, so much fun!! I'll leave you with some things to remember (mainly its for me kat and fin but.. you should read it anyways.. why? BECAUSE I SAID SO DANGIT!)

AHHHHHH"-- "WATCH OUT LADIES!!"..."Why dont they ask us to move BEFORE they are about to hit us the in the back of the head?!"--- Operation Sleep Over: "What should we do about underware?".."umm just.. turn them inside out?" , "Yeah so can we have some D.O."... "Yeah I have two sticks"...then she only had one.. BUT WE GOT IT! haha--- "Well.. at least we have the stick..."--- kathryn sleeping naked....---"WINGING IT!!"--- "oh yeah they have some BAD uni-butts.."---"My feet are soooo nasty!"--- "I dont understand why people who hate feet .. hate feet..?? like.. they are just feet?!" Finney's face when people have their feet on her haha--- "I think it was his jacket that made me think he was knowledgeable.."--- "that little girl is flagging a taxi.. thats insane"--"Yeah finney almost hit her"--- My tab with Finney-- The looks we got because of those paddle and the many offers we got to buy them and the many questions of who made them...-- "We should sell these on ebay..."--- "Hart.. "no okay yeah just give em to me later"--- "im just mean when I wake up.."--- "OH MAN! Haha Ladies.. this weekend was amazing. I loved every min of it.. honestly nothing upset me.. except being outta the car haha jk but not really. This weekend was a weekend for the books and I love you girls for it! Emily you are loud.. and awesome! Aubrey you frickin rock my world (I might regret saying that you'll use it against me), and I hope you two feel loved cuz you are,
