Harry's Tiny Crappy Apartment, Chicago, Monday

Dec 12, 2011 21:24

When Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden blinked out of existence last week, he'd been standing in front of his apartment building, staff in hand, Bob in his coat pocket and roaring a defiant incantation at the oncoming blackness that had enveloped most of Chicago.

When he abruptly began existing again in the wee hours of the morning, he was still standing and yelling defiantly. Only this time the blackness was gone, replaced by the not-quite darkness of a city street at night.

"Bob," Harry asked, looking down, "what just happened?"

"I think we stopped and then started again," Bob said helpfully.

"Meaning?"

"I...have no idea," Bob answered.

"Why do I keep you?"

"Because I'm awesome, Dresden. And you'd be lost without me."

Harry snorted. "I think I just got lost with you, didn't I?"

Bob heaved a long-suffering sigh. "The world didn't end, Dresden. Let's celebrate!"

"You know how much I hate to say this," Harry said with a sigh of his own, "but you might have the right idea."

[I never got around to Nothing-ing Harry onscreen but I'm unNothing-ing him anyway.]
