wow, i haven't updated in quite a long time. this summer was pretty much day-in, day-out. i learned a lot of techniques in neuroscience. i'm going to be working in the lab again this year, for credit instead of pay, and actually using the techniques i learned over the summer to do some real research. i'm going to be looking mroes specifically at the development of glial cells in the Xenopus tectum and trying to understand how they regulate synptic plasticity, synaptic transmission, and synaptogenesis. i'm also taking modern architecture, neuropharmacology, investments, and an intro management class where we just read case studies.

my suite here is pretty nice though the room is a little small. we have a walkout porch, which i think is the only one of its kind on campus. the suite used to be a disability services suite, so we have a seat in our shower and automatic doors. this is great because my house for the summer mostly sucked nuts.

i went to the hospital the other day because someone jumped into my head while playing soccer. they thought that i might have a concussion but it turns out that i don't. i did have one serious bump for a while though.

i'll be home for a short period around thanksgiving this year, but i'm going to china for winter break so i won't be back at all then.

for anyone who didn't know, we moved from urbandale to beaverdale. house is smaller but nicer. i'll be living in the basement, which i designed myself.

i'm still working at the public policy job making phone calls, but i'm also unofficially editing papers for the journal of family and economic issues, of which ran's dad is editor-in-chief.

that's all for now.
