7_crossovers prompt Blinded. I had been feeling really blue about the death Heath Ledger, which btw, I still can’t get my brain to wrap around, and anyway I thought I wouldn’t be able to write anything. But in the end my muse proved me wrong, which I’m happy for. Not a very creative title, but I really couldn’t think of anything else.

Despite magic’s advancement over most medical ailments, blindness wasn’t one of the things they could treat. And since the brutal war against Voldemort, Hermione’s eye sight had been desecrating year after year. She had went to St. Mungo’s Hospital and learned they couldn’t do anything for it. Magic wasn’t helping it… if anything, they thought, it was making it worse. They said it might be an unknown side affect of a spell she had been hit with during the battle.
Her mother wouldn’t let her them try magic any longer, since they didn’t seem to do any good. So she researched the best doctors and found a Doctor Gregory House, one of the finest doctors the United States had to offer. It took some persuading, especially since they couldn’t say that even wizards could not fix her eyes.
And within a week and a half, she had her eye sight back. She didn’t know what they did, all Hermione knew and cared about was seeing her parents, Harry, Ron, Ginny, and her friends again. It had been months she had been able to see them and it was so relieving she had could see again. Hermione barely managed to thank Dr. House for treating her because her mother wanted to take her back home. However in the end, she still didn’t get to meet him. She did however ended up seeing Dr. Chase, a man she learned a lot about during her tests and such.
She admitted to herself that she did indeed have a crush on the doctor then, but she wasn’t sure about what he thought of her or if he would like her bushy hair and of her in general. Her nerves only worsened when she could finally see him. He had a gentle, almost angelic face and his smile was completely infectious. She hated to admit she was barely managing to calm herself down to speak normally towards him. After he left her room, Ginny teased her quietly about her crush on Dr. Chase while Harry was trying to get Ron from pigging himself out.
“So, going back to Europe?” asked Dr. Chase, smiling slightly. She could tell he was rather upset, but she wasn’t sure about asking why since it wasn’t really her business anyway.
“My mother wants me to,” Hermione answered, she took the seat next to him when he offered it to her. She smiled at him, “but I really want to stay here for a bit. I didn’t get a chance to really see it yet and I would love to.”
“Understandable,” Chase stated, nodding his head. He seemed to brighten a little after she said that, and Hermione wondered if it was because of what indeed said or there was something else. “If, for any reason,” he cleared his throat and she looked at him confused and he smiled nervously, “that you need a tour guide, I would love to be yours.”
Not even she knew how she kept from laughing like a school girl at that moment, but she calmly accepted his tour guide invitation.
“Oh for pity’s sake, kiss already and get married,” Dr. Gregory House stated walking past them to his office.
THE END.
