nothing wrong with a desktop model, just do not get a dell. Macs get virus' too. Don't know, but it will be an adjustment.

Macs *rarely* get them though--almost unheard of *points down to autumnmist's comment* It is an adjustment, but by God it already after a few hours makes PCs look like utter crap....

I tried using a mac after 20 years. I got frustrated with it, seem like it was better suited to games, and entertainment.

I suppose I will be on PCs until the super tablets come out in a few years. =)

It takes some getting used to--I haz a class on it tomorrow. But I'm finding it pretty intuitive.

Maybe they improved it since the 3 years ago when i last tried one. I used macs back in the mosaic days. Then everything converted to DOS/Windows. Everything I do at work is windows.

Any new PC will make an old one look like crap. =) Enjoy your new machine. =) Do learn to do back ups on it.

This is actually an automated part of Mac OX 10.6. ;) It's called "Time Machine". Obvs, it works best if you have a spare hard drive lying around, but there's no reason you can't get a cheap one off NewEgg and reformat it to Mac and use it. (This is what I did, anyway, and it works fine.)
