I am so alive!

I begin college on September 4th, curtosy of DeVry University's online program.

Even though the degree will be in Network Systems Administration, as long as it's focused mainly on science with some physics credits thrown in for good measure, I'm all set with becoming an officer. When I start on my Bachelor's, that degree will probably be in either Aeronautical Science (if I go the Naval Aviator route) or Criminal Justice with a minor in something science-y (if I go the JAG route). Both options are available, really, but it's a matter of me choosing one when the time comes to submit my package. And since my AS will already be science related, I could get a degree in psychology, which is what I've always wanted.

The plan is to keep taking CLEP tests so that I can get my Associate's Degree in around a year's time and not have to use as much of my Tuition Assistance (TA). I'll have my GI Bill paid off next month, so I could use that if I really wanted to, but I want to hang onto that money for as long as I can. I'll find out how much all of this is going to cost tomorrow when my financial advisor calls me after work...I'm crossing my fingers that I'm not paying anything out of my own pockets.

I know this is, in my opinion, a "dummy" degree and will be pretty worthless to me if I were to stop there in my college endeavor, but it's just a stepping stone for bigger and better things. Hopefully I'm on the right road in terms of my dreams.
