Well, the good news is that I will be moving out of the barracks within the month. The bad news is that I still haven't decided on a place.
Corey's townhouse is my top choice, but I'm looking at two more places tomorrow before I make my final decision. The first place just so happens to be in the same complex that John lives in--he's the guy who I went to the shooting range with a couple weekends ago. At least I'll be able to find it easily, haha. The guy who lives there (Josh, hee.--inside joke, right, Kat?) works Nights, which is from 3pm-11pm and I work days which leaves me unavailable from 6am-3pm...so, we're like ships passing in the night. He asked his boss if he could come in late tomorrow just so he could show me his apartment, but I told him not to worry about it--I'll just lie to my boss and tell him I have an appointment at 11am. Everyone else in my shop does that, especially on days when they have hangovers, so I only figure it's a right of passage for me being the only one always sober. I already know what his place will look like since it's the same as John's, so I guess I'm only going to see if he's the type of person I can tolerate as a roommate. I already know the place comes furnished, so that's a large bonus there.
The other place I'm going to look at tomorrow after work is a recommendation by a guy at work. He, along with half of my shop, was worried by the fact that I would be moving in with a guy I didn't know. C'mon now, I know there are some weirdos out there, but I happen to be a very good judge of character--I'm a big girl, I'm in the military, and I go to the shooting range for fun--you don't just mess with that, mmkay? Anyway, he called up one of his friends who has a room available in his house--his gigantic, very expensive house. Eh, sounds tempting, but I don't want to live in a house with 4 other people. I'd rather have just one person I'm forced to tolerate, lol. So, I'm pretty much only going to ease his mind...that, and he wants to use the laundry room at the barracks and needs me there to do that. hah. Love how treasured I am.
I'm probably going to go over to John's tomorrow night after I look at the second place. A few of us are going to watch the first Pirates of the Carribean while snacking on popcorn and pizza. That could be fun, but I'm still wary about hanging out with him since I know he has a thing for me. Also, the guy from work who's showing me that place, he wants me to go paintballing with him and a bunch of guys from work on Saturday morning, including John. As much fun as he made it sound, I'm more worried about the after effects of that experience, like the black and blue bruises I'm sure to suffer from. Eh, I guess I can't knock it until I try it.
Oh! My paperwork for my extra housing allowance is only waiting for two more signatures--the CMC and the XO. Please, for the love of God, have it approved quickly.
