Well! Thought up a vague idea for a sci fi story yesterday, and today I saw on Twitter that Redstone SF has extended their deadline to tomorrow (instead of tonight). Is it....a sign? I choose yes! We'll see if I can write it tonight. They don't accept anything over 4k, so it would be short anyway, but I also don't know where the story is going, so we'll see if I get stumped.
While considering how to begin, the title "The Bees of Mecrie" popped into my head. As far as I know there are no bees in this story, so...we'll see? I don't actually know what the plot is yet...mostly I just have a general setting for the start. Here goes nothing!
