I always thought it was cool as a teacher to point out numerically interesting days, but when you think about it every day only happens once a century. I watched all the news broadcasts about the goths planning weddings today, the new Left Behind book coming out (even though I think these guys are really clutching at straws, now), and, of course, the remake of The Omen opening.
HERE'S THE REALLY IMPORTANT THING ABOUT TODAY:
IT'S THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF MY DADDY'S ORDINATION! Of course, he's been retired for years, now, but being a pastor is one of those careers you never stop being. He still takes it very seriously, volunteering at the hospital and filling the pulpit whenever there's a need. I say quite often that my dad is my hero, and this is just an opportunity to remind everyone. YAY FOR MY DAD, AND THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR YEARS OF SERVICE!
