Yesterday we (me, two of my housemates and their girlfriends) went to Liverpool for some culture.
It was ace. We went to the Walker and Tate galleries and the World Museum and the Slavery Museum and saw lots of cool things like Picasso's, Warhol's, Hockney's and cool fish in the World Museum (that place kicks arse... it's for kids but everyone should go, it's all bright colours and things to touch and press and stuff) and I brought lots of ace Christmas presents for people and some David Shrigley postcards that make me giggle. And then we had lunch at a great vegetarian cafe called the Egg Cafe which was yummy and cheap (well, you got huge portions with loads of salad and stuff). And I want to go again!
Tomorrow I have a politics tutorial in Leeds, which is good because I need it to re-engerise myself to get working again. I've been finding that the tutorials motivate me to work again and are just often enough to work perfectly. But I do wish it wasn't 10.30 as I have to leave the house at about 8.30 to get there in time and that's too early for a Saturday. I'm lagging a bit English wise, but that's because I don't really like the Book that the next essay is based around. It's all old fashioned Scots and really hard to read. But I have been looked at Masters courses in gender studies which should motivate me to plough on and write good essays so I get in!
I've also applied for a job at the university library doing 2 hour shifts stacking shelves 5 days a week which would work really well coz I could go, stack shelves and then work for a couple of hours on uni stuff and then come home and everything would be good. I'm crossing fingers and all that, but given my current job hunting failure I'm not that hopeful.
