Phew! What a weekend...
After a hard week at the office, it was nice to get out and mingle with some of my closest friends.
On Friday night, I went out with Broc (A Brisbane Furry) to the bear's night held at the Oxford. Didn't recognise any of the usual patrons that used to attend the event whilst it was at the Flinders, but it was an interesting experience all the same. The one downside of the location was that they closed to dancefloor that evening, which meant all the house music was being played upstairs. Not being much of a dance music kinda guy myself, the only place where there was respite from the noise was in the smoking area. However, it was mildly humorous the content that was appearing on the TV screens inside the club!
On Saturday, I hung out with my new bear friend Drew here at home to watch SGU. Later that afternoon Techie, Yuumei and JayFear came over for drinks. Like any happy gay household, Dirty Minds, Singstar and copious amounts of alcohol made for a fantastic evening! The night also yielded my first Sake drinking experience, which I gotta say went pretty smoothly!
Today, I waltzed up King Street with JayFear to meet Aussie, Broc, Temba and Drew to have Thai for lunch. For $7.50, the Chicken Laska is got proved to be good value! I think the dehydration caused by the drinking from the night before caused me to down almost two bottles of cold water at the restaurant. Believe it or not I was *still* thirsty at that point!
Tomorrow after work I plan on starting up playing squash again with one of my fellow work colleagues. Its been a number of years since this fat old yote has played, so I can't expect too much of my fitness! Overall, it was a good weekend and it was really great to catch up with everyone.
Now to wait it out till next weekend. God save the Queen! ;)
