Given its been a while since I posted here, thought it would be time to give everyone a bit of a life update!
The new job has been travelling relatively smoothly, bar the odd disagreements with management over their interactions with colleagues in the workplace. Some aspects of the job (like the monthly reports) make me want to bang my head on the desk repeatedly out of boredom. On the otherhand, *most* people in the office have been more than welcoming and make the effort of rocking up seem worthwhile. Either way, I can see myself sticking around a little longer than the last job!
A couple weeks ago I travelled up to the Gold Coast for Furdu, which was run by Drake and Oz Kangaroo. It was a well earned break after a couple months of slogging it behind a computer screen. Met many cool new folks, and got to catch up with a few I hadn't seen in years! Considering how many furs we have in Australia, the relaxed format of the convention I think really worked! Only things that I didn't think were too fancy were the attitudes of the hotel staff, and the general vibe of the town. Despite the negatives (in which there always are), it was a fun time and would definitely contemplate going again!
One thing I do miss is the fun times that were had in America and Canada. A piece of my heart, and my youth has been left there. Fortunately, the internet has allowed me to keep in contact with the good folks I met over there. The aim is for next year to make another trip over there, though probably not as long this time. Perhaps an adventure down south would be the way to go *grins*
