what a tiny world
The world is indeed small my friends. After my last post I decided I wanted more beer, and I didn't want to pay the inflated hotel mini-bar price. So nI went outside and walked to the first open bar I found. I sat down with my Guiness to sip and watch the Frenchie crowd when lo and behold I hear Spanish. No just any Spanish, mind you, but that hood Dominican Spanish. So I turned adn asked, and yup, these two guys were immigrants from the Dominican Republic, in Brussels seeking their fate. We shared beers and laughs until it became to late for them as they have to work in the AM. After they left I was one of three souls left in this 24 hour bar and a dude walks in with a Boston Bruins hat who turned out to be a special ed teacher from Detroit. Shared a beer and some smokes with him as well. After a whole weekend of feeling like a fucking alien that was all very cool, gracias a Dios. It's more than just a cliche my friends ... the world is smaller than it seems.
