Music is on a roll. I played my greatest game of Civ3 yet this weekend and puffed excessively for the first time in a little while, which meant a lot of time to check out new albums. I recommend all these:
immortal technique - revolutionary vol.2
2mex - the return of fernandomania
gm grimm as superstar jet jaguar - digital tears:: e-mail from purgatory
various artists (compilation) - very special people
tony touch - the piece maker 2
Also got reacquainted with these classics:
a tribe called quest - midnight maurauders
krs-1 - edutainment
rick rubin - queen, ruined by rick rubin
On top of all that I got parts of a leaked Talib Kweli promo and I like the direction. I swear, my first few checks when I start work will have to go almost strictly to catching up with my mp3 collection. Everything was mega-solid, but my fave thus far is the 2mex. I have been sleeping on a nice emcee, I'll have to dig up any older stuff he has.
Immortal Technique's CD is really good also. I liked this part from the first track, & I thought I'd end on this since everyone is busy gushing over the victimized Spaniards today and how tthey were supposedly scared into voting left. Spaniards don't cower though, let's not forget there is cold steel asleep in their veins...
'just like the Spanish exterminating Tainos
raping Black and Indian women, creating Latinos
motherfuckers made me out of their self righteous hatred
and now you got yourself a virus stuck in the matrix
... don't you understand?
that will never let me live out in peace
concrete jungle?
guerilla war, out in the streets'
