Hawaii braces for Flossie
Category 4 Hurricane Flossie is expected to miss most of the island archipelago of Hawaii, but hurricane watches may need to be posted later today or tomorrow. This hurricane has already reached a peak wind speed of 140 mph and has since fallen back to minimum category 4 winds of 130 mph. By Thursday the hurricane is forecasted to weaken to category 1, but not before days of strong gusty onshore winds, high waves, and heavy rains batter the islands.
