Eastern North American Heat Wave 2007

Aug 06, 2007 12:54

Yes, officially the heatwave is nearing its apex, but no where near the extent and strength as of the 2006 North American Heat Wave. One Wednesday Columbus is expected to reach 95, tieing (or maybe exceeding) the record that was set in 1914 of 95 degrees. Thursday's record is 98, with a forecasted high of 95.

In other areas of Ohio this week Tuesday through Friday with the records in parenthesis:

Cincinnati - 94(97), 99(98), 100(97), 95(97).
Dayton - 93(95), 96(97), 97(98), 91(96).

It looks like Wednesday and Thursday will be the hottest, or one of the hottest days of the year for 2007 as of yet. It's a little early, but once this heat wave breaks then summer will slowly begin to wind down. Then we can look forward to snow in as little as two months (it can snow in October but will it this year?).
