Nomenclature

The username I wanted in the first place came up in the purge. This one is easy to learn about online, if you're curious.

The old one is the name of a character in one of the short stories found in Daughters of Copper Woman by Anne Cameron. Ms Cameron is Nootka; I think their real name, meaning not the one the Russians tossed at them, is spelled ( Read more... )

Oh no no, m'dear. There's plenty. There's a dude in Quebec who seems to only photograph them, and besides, I have a metric assbucket of them sitting on my hard drive; I have been collecting such jpegs since long before that particular Hedwig became known to me. ...I have a LOT of "collections" sitting on my hard drive...

And since we're on the subject, the birds they use for Hedwig in the movies are boys. Females remain partly black. The inaccuracy has always irked me a bit. (Also, females are larger than the males -- like some other raptors, and many spiders.)
