Just wanted to share this.

My brother, who has not had the greatest last couple of years, is hopefully also turning a corner. He's had 3 back surgeries, the last one likely making him sterile, a divorce, a very trying period of time with the mother of Fuzzy (Farrah Zoey, my niece), not to mention the random shit that always comes up with being a member of our family.

But, he went with his girlfriend's family to Cabo for the week, for her step-father's birthday/Mexican-style Thanksgiving, apparently. And he proposed. And she said yes :) Fuzzy loves Sam, Sam is pretty cool, and my bro needs some positivity right now. Well, I think it's safe to say he's happy right now!

For me, I kind of feel like I might have finally turned a corner myself, that I might finally be getting to a point where I don't feel quite so worthless and where I can actually start working on getting some semblance of order back to my life. I'm hoping to get state disability so I can continue to work on my head and not be flat fucking broke. And then hopefully, by my birthday in March, I'll feel ready to start looking for a job, or will have found a small, part-time gig somewhere.

I'm just hoping this Christmas is better than last year's, because I had said I wanted to skip that one by the middle of last December, and boy, did it turn out I was right on that front. But hopes are a little higher this year. As long as I get to spend some decent time with Fuzzy on Christmas Eve and Morning, I'll be happy. Her mother is Jewish, so this year is being cool and letting my brother have her for the holiday we celebrate in a very un-religious way. Except for my wacky obsession with Nativity Scenes.

Anyhoo, just felt like posting something. Gotta go get ready for dinner. Daddy is 67 today, though you wouldn't guess by looking at him :) Going to the only restaurant in our little town, Happy Garden, for some awesome Chinese food.

So, to everyone who might read this, have a good Thanksgiving, for the Americans at least, and to those who don't do Thanksgiving, just have a good day and weekend, and I hope all is well :)
