Summary: Ji Hun turned his back to her and began to walk away from her. If left to her rantings, she would end up in hysterics and cause a scene. A scene he didn't want to take part in. "It's not very lady like to dish out insults like that, especially about a girl you don't even know," he muttered with a small sigh. A smirk instantly claimed him as a thought came to mind, "Not that you're much of a lady."
-Chapter Twenty Three-
"I still don't know what you're talking about," Ji Hun laughed at the ridiculous expression on Boa's face as the girl quickly dragged him through the carnival, no longer wanting to be at the dratted place that had completely ruined her evening, and possibly the rest of her week. "I didn't see Jaejoong anywhere, and you want to know why? Because he rejected your stupid little invite."
Boa was seething with anger at the way Ji Hun mocked her. "I know what I saw, you egotistical little basta--"
"Watch it," Ji Hun warned with a serious edge to his voice. He pulled away from her grasp and crossed his arms over his chest. "I've humoured you long enough, Kwon Boa. It was fun at first watching you try to rope in Jaejoong at first, which was why I stuck around to see what would happen, but enough is enough."
"He's here," Boa began angrily, "he's here with some little stupid girl, Ji Hun! He'd rather be with some little elementary schooler who probably can't even spell puberty let alone have gone through it."
Ji Hun turned his back to her and began to walk away from her.

Young Bae gently pat Ji Yong over the shoulder as even more YG students showed up to the designated pizza parlor. "Ya, I told you I'd split the cost with you." He grinned at his friend and shook him slightly, "Cheer up man and eat some pizza. It'll probably be the only time we'll be able to break our season diet with Taebin-hyung around."
The boy had a valid point. While still in season, the soccer team had to follow a strict diet, so to better improve health and help any stamina issues any teammates may have suffered from. Tonight, Taebin had lifted the rules to celebrate such a rare occasion. Ji Yong sighed and nodded, still not liking the fact that he would be paying for everyone. "I guess you have a point."
He grabbed the slice of pizza Dae Sung had just picked up and was just about to bite into. "If I'm paying for this, I might as well eat as much as I can! Ha!"
As the boy opened his mouth to take in the hot slice, an conviniently tune out Dae Sung's protests, Lexy swiped it from Ji Yong's greedy paws. "I don't think so, dongsaeng. This slice has my name written all over it."
"Yeah right, ahjumma," Baek Kyoung yelled from across the table, making a variety of faces at the girl, causing her to put the slice down so that she could effectively strangle him.
Dae Sung quickly grabbed the slice and began to eat before anyone else could have a go at it. He would have to make sure to thank Baek Kyoung-hyung later for stopping Lexy from eating the slice.
Only Yenni couldn't effectively enjoy the festivities and pizza, though she wasn't the only one wondering about her sister's realtionship with Shim Changmin. Seung Ri was also worried about May Doni, and what it was she could possibly be doing with the SM prodigy right at this very moment, but he put up a better show of pretending that nothing was wrong. He ate pizza and laughed with the rest of his hyungs and nuna's.
"Yenni-ah," Seung Hyun nudged the girl slightly and offered her a slice of pizza. "Ya, something wrong?"
For a moment, Yenni was still silent, glaring at the outside of the pizza parlor they were at, she finally turned her attention to Seung Hyun and forced a small smile onto her face, "I think I'm gonna go back to campus. I really need to check up on May Doni and make sure she's alright."
"Aww," Jin Hwan cooed, despite his full mouth of pizza. He swallowed quickly and clapped his hands together, "Sisterly love is so adorable!"
Teddy shoved the boy to the side, causing their small corner of the parlor to explode with laughter. To Yenni he said, "She is a big girl and perfectly capable of taking care of herself, you know."
Wheesung rolled his eyes and leaned back in his seat, "Stop trying to sound all grown up, Teddy. Besides, more pizza for us, right guys?" As the students of YG cheered, he delivered a small nod and wink to Yenni, a silent indicator for her to go while the rest of their group wouldn't bother her with a million questions and comments.
Yenni bowed to everyone and hurried away, though she didn't have that far to hurry to. Just two blocks away, standing on a street corner was that Shim Changmin with May Doni. There was another boy standing with them, but the important thing was that she had located the girl, and she would surely be recieving a verbal thrashing as soon as they got back to the safety and privacy of the dorms.
What if some of the others had seen her in such company?
May Doni was laughing at something Changmin had said when Yenni hurried over to where they were. Without even a word, she snatched at the younger girl's wrist and proceeded to drag her away, swearing under her breath as she did so. As expected, May Doni fought back.
"Unni!" She shrieked upon realizing that it was her idiot older sister. "Let me go, what are you doing?" She attempted uselessly to get away from the girl's pincer like grip.
Changmin took a small step forward while Jaejoong looked on in shock, "Excuse me--"
"Stay the hell away from my fucking sister!" Yenni spat nastily, "And you!" She turned her snarl to May Doni, who still attempted to get out of her grip. "Don't even pretend like you don't know who he is! What school he goes to!" She gave May Doni a violent yank and dragged her away, not bothering to listen to anything the girl had to say.
In an instant, the two were gone, heading directly for their respected academy.
"YG Academy?" Jaejoong asked, still staring at the spot the two girls had been only moments ago. His eyes finally drifted to the slightly bothered Changmin.
They both knew the answer to this question, but it went unanswered as Yunho came out with a small plastic bag. "Sorry I took so long, but I wanted to make sure--" he paused, noting that one of their party was missing. "Where's Shay Moni?"
"May Doni," Changmin corrected automatically with icey edge to his tone. With a small sigh of frustration, the boy shoved his hands into his pockets and headed back to school where he could lock himself in his room and possibly forget about the scene that had just played out.
Even though it was something he was so used to, something that was so second nature to him, the rivalry between the two schools never ceased to amaze him. It brought out the worst in people, his hyung espeically. It caused stupid fights, petty competitions and broke up friendships, whether those involved knew it or not. Did May Doni's older sister really hate him so much just because of the school he went to?
Simply because he was SM Academy's Shim Changmin?
Yunho wanted the younger boy sulkily walk away before glancing at Jaejoong, his eyes shining with the question: What the hell just happened?
"May Doni's sister called," Jaejoong somewhat explained in a silent voice, "she had to go back home."
* * *
"What were you doing hanging out with SM snobs?"
"Shim Changmin isn't a snob, unni, you are!"
Yenni took a step back from her sister, looking at her with such shock and offense that May Doni almost had the urge to take the words back, but she couldn't possibly back down now. "Just listen to me, unni."
"There's nothing to listen to," Yenni growled, quickly combing her fingers through her hair and wanting the whole thing to be just a really bad dream. "Do you know what kind of shit you'll get into if someone squeals that you've been running around with these SM nobodies? Do you know how bad that will look on me?" When May Doni didn't answer, didn't even look at her, Yenni roughly grabbed her chin and forced the girl to face her, "Do you even care?"
May Doni jerked her head free of Yenni's grasp and turned away again. "You obviously won't listen to me. I have nothing to say." She crossed her arms over her chest and jutted her jaw forward, the very image of stubborness at its best.
A strained silence filled their dorm room and it seemed to be amplified, as if they were in an empty dome theater. Yenni unsure what she, as the older sister, should do. May Doni no longer caring about her future at YG Academy if it meant that she wouldn't be able to continue her friendship with Changmin.
"Ya," Yenni began in a more reasonable tone, "If you have something to say, then go ahead and say it. I'm all ears."
"You don't really want to listen to me," May Doni sighed, relaxing her face into resignation. "You haven't listened to me since I've set foot on this campus."
"I'm listening now."
May Doni glanced at her sister with slightly narrowed eyes, still very upset about the girl's interrupting her precious time with Changmin. "Sure you're listening, but are you even going to hear a word I have to say? Somehow I'm very doubtful."
Yenni sighed and sat next to her, "Then try me."
There was a light knock on the door, and May Doni couldn't have been more relieved. Though Yenni had claimed to want to listen to what she had to say, she wasn't entirely sure that she wanted to speak to her about the things that were on a constant repeat in her mind.
Not to Yenni of all people anyway.
"Oh," Yenni let out a small surprised gasp as she opened the room door. "Dong Wook-oppa."
At the door stood Dong Wook, a polite smile plastered onto his face as he nodded slightly at Yenni, then peeked into the room at May Doni, awarding her with the same nod. "Is everything alright in here? You left the pizza parlor so suddenly, Yenni, I just wanted to make sure you two were ok."
Though Yenni smiled and nodded at the sunbae, her expression seemed to say otherwise. The fact that she was jumping through hoops to attempt to throw him off didn't change the fact that she was horrible with lying. Again, Dong Wook peeked into the room at May Doni, whose bored expression did throw him off.
She glanced at him and made a slight inclination of the head, "We're fine, sunbae.Really, Just a little sister heart to heart."
Dong Wook wasn't entirely sure how heart to hearts with sisters went, but he was sure it didn't constitute yelling, which was something he had heard as he had been making his way down the hall, but he said nothing. "Well if either of you need to talk, I'm just down the hall."
"You aren't going back with the others, oppa?" Yenni asked curiously, wanting the older boy to stay as long as possible so that she and May Doni wouldn't actually have to have a heart to heart. The two were so different, so seperated that it was near impossible for them to even acknowledge the other as an actual relative.
Just like the silence they had been submerged in only several minutes ago, their relationship was very much strained.
And they knew it.
With a small laugh, Dong Wook rubbed his hand on his non-existant gut and slouched against the doorway, "I've eaten my fill, so I don't think I'll be heading back. But if you ladies are sure that there's nothing I can do--"
"Actually, sunbae," May Doni hopped up from the bed she had been seated on and quickly crossed the room to the door. This was her opportunity to escape, "Now that I think about it, is alright if I borrow you for a moment? I promise it won't take up much time." Before Dong Wook recieved the opportunity to even think about answering, the girl ducked under Yenni's arm and dragged the older boy down the hall at a light jog.
In little to no time, they were outside the dormitory building and leaning against the exterior walls.
"Did you really need to borrow me for something," Dong Wook began with a small smirk, "or were you just looking for an excuse to avoid Yenni?"
May Doni hung her head low at the question and claspes her hands infront of her, "Am I really that predictable, sunbae?" Was she really such a coward that she didn't want to face her sister? She frowned and shook her head, "Is it so bad of me not to want to open up to her of all people?"
Dong Wook shrugged, "You two are very different, but at the same time, you two are sisters." He grinned and nudged the girl slightly, "Ya, it isn't as if the world's ending. You don't have to have such a serious face."
"Sunbae," she began with a heavy sigh, finally tearing her gaze from the ground, only to look up at the dusk sky, "is the SM YG rivalry so important? I mean, because of it, relationships are limited, aren't they?" She finally looked at Dong Wook, wondering what kind of answer to get from the senior, knowing full and well that he was having a secret relationship of sorts with the beautiful Kim Jaejoong she had finally met, thanks to Changmin.
Thoughtful.
That would definitely be the word to describe Dong Wook's expression at that moment. Thoughtful. Full of thoughts. Full of thoughts could only possibly be about SM's one and only Kim Jaejoong.
Was the rivalry something so important that he had to end all ties with his angel? He knew that Jaejoong was feeling pressure from not just Yunho but from the school as well. In the view of SM Academy, YG Academy was the scum of the earth, vermon that needed to be dealt with accordingly. Was it fair? Was it a just reason to keep him away from something he felt he was truly entitled to?
"Hell no," he spoke silently yet suddenly. "The rivalry between the two schools is ridiculous, and we shouldn't have to tip toe around it."
May Doni quickly drew breath to respond to her subae's words, but never recieved the chance as a small chuckle escaped him. He glanced at her, his smile slightly distorted and twisted from how she remembered him smiling before, "Is that what you expected to hear, Little Yenni?" He shook his head and pushed himself away from the wall. "The rivalry is a part of both schools. It's something we can't change."
As he began to walk away, he paused as May Doni spoke, "It shouldn't be a part of either school, and will it change. Even if I have to change it myself." After this remark, he heard the soft patter of retreating steps until finally there were none.
He smirked to himself and shook his head as he walked away from the dormitory building, his steps leading him to that grassy patch of land he had been avoiding recently. "That May Doni," he muttered silently, that smirk still in place and a small shake of his head.
"Oh yeah," came a voice. "She's certainly something else." There was a small bout of laughter in this voice as sthe voice came closer, "But why did you say all that, Dong Wook? Unless you think there's something deliciously appealing about sneaking around with--"
"Go back to your own school, Rain," Dong Wook sighed in annoyance, making a point to emphasize the boy's nickname. He glanced over his shoulder, and sure enough, there was Ji Hun, cocky smirk and all. Dong Wook rolled his eyes as the boy drew nearer and finally the two slapped hands. "What's up, man?"
"Heard Wheesung was in town," Ji Hun responded simply, with a shrug of his shoulders. "I know I'm a bit let, he's probably been here for a good minute already, but I had some pest control problems to take care of."
Dong Wook nodded, "Boa," he muttered with a small shake of his head. He shoved his hands into his pockets and proceeded to that grassy patch of land. "So outside the Queen bitch herself, what you been up to?"
A small laugh, "You're not going to avoid my question that easily, Dong Wook. What was with that crap you were saying to that little girl? Or do you honestly believe in both preserving the rivalry as well as trying to claim Jaejoong?" He shook his head and followed behind the private school boy. "If that's what you're thinking, you're more fucked up than I thought."
"I don't believe in the rivalry," Dong Wook sighed, "but I don't believe in playing nice with SM just because they happen to be a richer school." He shook his head and shrugged. "I definitely don't believe in tolerating the likes of Jung Yunho. He's pissed me off one too many times for my liking."
Ji Hun laughed, "As if you haven't done the same?" He shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest, his laughter still claiming him. When he was able to settle down, he smiled thoughtfully, "You two are more alike then you're willing to admit. I guess you really do pick up the traits of your rivals after a few years."
"Don't say shit like that," was Dong Wook's automatic arguement. "Don't even begin to compare me to that fucking tub of lard in any way, shape or form." He sighed as he finally reached that grassy patch of land and slowly lowered himself to a sitting position.
Ji Hun leaned on a nearby pillar, remaining on YG's campus, but watching his friend carefully. It seemed as if Dong Wook was waiting for something. Someone. To be perfectly honest, it was no wonder who. The boy was probably waiting for Jaejoong, but he knew just as well as Dong Wook, that they boy probably wouldn't come.
Attatched to Jaejoong's side, it seemed, was always Yunho. And though it killed Dong Wook to admit it, he believed that over time, Jaejoong was truly enjoying Yunho's constant presence. Responding even with innocent flirtations such as accidental brushing of the shoulders or legs, momentary eye contact, secret smiles. Dong Wook glowered at the offending academy, who dared admit such an angel on to their academy, then lowered his gaze to the grass.
"Dong Wook," Ji Hun began softly, for once, letting go of that carefree persona that constantly surrounded him. He cocked his head to one side and frowned. Seeing the boy's tortured soul was too much for him, something he certainly wasn't meant to bare witness to. "Ya, come on. It's Madden Night, and from what I hear, the guys already had their pizza, so now it's time for the beer."
"Yeah," Dong Wook responded slowly and softly. His gaze travelled back up to the school before finally getting up to retreat back to his own campus. As he and Ji Hun made for the dormitories, Jaejoong peered out from the shadow he had been hiding under when Dong Wook had appeared, and frowned at the boy's retreating back. "I'm sorry, Dong Wook," he muttered silently, lowering his head in a guilty manner.

Yunho and Changmin focused on each other intently as they clasped hands, their muscles straining under all the pressure of such intense battle of strength and concentration. Both had relaxed expression across their faces, though their bodies were rigid and tight as one attempted to dominate over the other.
Changmin began to force the older boy's arm back, but his momentum didn't last long as Yunho seemed to tap into some hidden energy and fight the youngster back.
"I don't know of Changminnie can keep up with hyung," Junsu shrieked with excitement, watching the silent battle go on between the two. His hands rested in front of his mouth where he could chew at his fingernails nervously.
Yoochun gently forced the boy's hands away from his mouth, though he too was focused on the arm wrestling game that had been going on for well over three or four minutes. "Don't bite your nails, Susu-ah. And I think Changmin might have Yunho-hyung. He's never struggled this much before."
Yunho began to force Changmin's arm back, and finally the difficulty of the task began to read on his expression. His eyes narrowed until they were just barely slits and he grit his teeth. His face had a slight tinge of pink to it from holding his breath. He was wasting energy, he knew it, but he was so close to beating Changmin.
He could feel it.
"Ah," Yoochun glanced at the door as opened and Jaejoong allowed himself into their dorm. "Jaejoong-hyung."
Changmin smirked knowingly and instantly slammed Yunho's arm back, winning the arm wrestling match. He grinned smugly and leaned back in his seat, crossing his arms over his chest and chaking his head at hi defeated hyung. "You really should learn how to concentrate better, hyung."
"When did you become so strong, Changmin, huh?" Yunho questioned with a small pout, rubbing his aching arm. He then shot a small glare at Yoochun for beinging attention to Jaejoong's arrival, then one more glare to a giggling Junsu. "Oh well," he went on with a small smile of his own, "it was a good match while it lasted."
Jaejoong smiled slightly and made his way over to the small gathering within the room and gently pat Changmin on the shoulder. "Good job, Minni-ah. Then again, Yunho hasn't beaten you yet, has he?"
At this comment, laughter emitted from all but Yunho, whose pout became more evident and sat back in his seat with his arms crossed over his chest. "I don't want to be reminded of that." he muttered sourly, but eventually joined in on the laughter.
Junsu hobbled over to the youngest patron of the room and collapsed onto his lap, "So how was the carnival, Minnie-ah? Who did you take with you? Who did you see? Was it fun? Did you--"
"One question at a time, hyung," Changmin sighed with a small smile, electing not to dump his injured roommate to the ground, though the thought did cross his mind for a brief moment. "It was a lot of fun. Jaejoong-hyung and Yunho-hyung even came for a while."
"No fair," Junsu huffed instantly. "All me and Yoochun did was go to the karaokee room with Heechul."
Yoochun laughed at Junsu's ridiculous expression, "We had a great time there. Susu didn't even think about the carnival while we were out."
Conversation drifted amongst the four, each having their own interpretation of the day's events. Jaejoong and Yunho noticed how Changmin never mentioned the fact that his friend, May Doni, had been the one to accompany him to the carnival. Since it was his own business as to why he wasn't informing the other two of the girl, neither Yunho nor Jaejoong made mention of her.
The first to leave the room was Yunho, claiming he had an early morning meeting with the coach. Something related to soccer, though he didn't go into specifics since no one probably cared much. Shortly after his departure, Jaejoong retreated to him room without making a single excuse. He simply bade the others good night. Then Changmin, who seemed to just disappear without Yoochun or Junsu noticing.
The two seated themselves on the couch, simply enjoying the cmpany the other boy provided. Junsu leaned again Yoochun, resting his head on the boy's shoulder and glanced up at him. "I really wanted to go to the carnival."
Yoochun let out that hearty laugh that had won him so many friends. A laugh that couldn't possibly be false under any circumstances. He then wrapped his arms around Junsu and hugged him tightly, "I know you did, Junsu, but you and I both know that you were in no condition to go." He gently kissed the boy's forehead, "I'm only looking out for you."
"Heechul is a terrible singer," Junsu went on complaining in soft murmmer, his voice barely audible. "And Ki Bum should have been there, not us."
From the slight slurs in his voice and the gentle silence in his even breaths, Yoochun could safely conclude that Junsu was finally beginning to fall asleep. "You're tired. You should rest."
Junsu's eyes fluttered closed as a rather large yawn escaped him. Those eyes reopened, however sluggishly. Once they were 'fully' opened, it was obvious he was exhausted as those innocent eyes of his were only half opened. If even. "I'm not that tired, Chunnie. Maybe only a quick nap."
"Alright," Yoochun let out a small bout of laughter, "A quick one."
"I'm still mad at you though," Junsu muttered silently, making himself more comfortable in Yoochun's embrace.
Yoochun smiled and nudged the drifting boy slightly, "Why? For not letting you break your leg at the carnival today?"
"Ani," he sighed, eyes finally closing completely. He was silent for a moment before his brows furrowed and he spoke again, "For even trying to be with Boa the bitch when you had someone wonderful like me."
The smile on Park Yoochun's face instantly vanished at the statement and he frowned. Not at Junsu, but at himself. The sleeping boy in his embrace had every right to be upset with him. He didn't deserve the adoration he recieved from Junsu on a daily basis. Didn't deserve the unwavering friendship and devotion. He had hurt Junsu so deeply and still Junsu had opened his heart to him, allowed him back into his life.
He didn't deserve Junsu in the least, and yet here they were. Which was why he treasured every single second he spent with the charismatic Kim Junsu. Yoochun knew that it would be the end of him should he ever mess up again.
"I really don't deserve another chance with you," Yoochun muttered silently to Junsu, his hand wiping at the bangs just above the boy's eyes. His hands then drifted to the baby soft skin of his cheeks, then gently traced over his lips. "You were the very first one I hurt, Susu-ah, yet you were the first to forgive me."
Junsu stirred slightly, but didn't open his eyes or make any other indications that he was awake, with the exception of two words. "Damn straight."
As Yoochun finally drifted off to sleep himself, Yunho silently exited his own room only to enter Jaejoong's. He felt as if they had to have a long overdue conversation.
