I'm in Alabama. My grandmother had emergency-ish heart bypass surgery Thursday morning, and I drove through the night Wednesday (8:30pm-3:30am!) so that we could see her before she went under. We made it here in time, and she was really happy to see us. There were lots of tears involved.
anyway - we went by her house today. it's in the sticks, 30-40 minutes away from the hospital/our hotel. I hadn't been there in a while, and wasn't really sure I'd be back before I came for her funeral - but there I was, camera phone at the ready...

- we used to clean catfish on this table. by we, i mean my dad did it while i watched in horror.

- there are a couple of swings like this at her house. the other one is spray-painted black - it's pretty rusty too, but it's still in way better shape. i swung on it briefly before we left. the tree on the left is the only one i have ever attempted to climb.

- the propane tank on the very left is right behind her house. the large, obnoxiously yellow building is a storage shed. in all my 21 years i've never been in this building - i was warned that it was full of bees. i'm told that my old tricycle is in here along with my sister's bicycle and a whole ton of other junk.
there are more. prepare thyself.
