Weird fic! I feel like like writing more of these...

Weird FIC!!! Made from the joke "Why is 6 afraid of 7?" "Because 7, 8, 9..." I know I know...

It's a little bit Hannibal Lecter.

All the even numbers are girls and all the odd numbers are guys. Also, it's better if you imagine them as humans, like in Axis Powers Hetalia

Six sat on the couch, fidgeting a little. Seven had gone into the kitchen for a while, and had left her here to stare at the giant picture of a nautilus on his wall, a glass of wine in her hand. She heard something that sounded distinctively like a knife being sharpened.

“Seven, exactly what are you doing?” she called.

“It’s a surprise,” he called back, the knife now being slammed into a chopping board.

She smirked, trying to link the tough guy persona Seven always portrayed to the guy cooking her heaven knew what in the kitchen right now. Her girlfriend Four was always telling her that judging a book by the cover, you won’t understand the pages inside.

Six sipped her wine, picking at the hem of her green dress. She wondered if Four got all of her guy knowledge from living with two guys. Three and Five were great guys and the three of them made a great band, The Twelves. Six wasn’t really used to guys, having been and only child and going to girl schools right up till college. Guys were a new territory to her, really. It was weeks before she got up the nerve to ask Seven out.

She heard another slam of the chopping board and got even more curious. What was he doing?

Before she could satisfy her own curiosity, he phone went off, indicating she had a text. She took it up, pressed the button to open the message. It was from her friend Ten.

Six read.

Why is 6 afraid of 7?

Because 7, 8, 9...

For a second, Six was a little confused. What kind of message was that?

But as the knife came down once more on the chopping board in the kitchen, she felt the hairs on the back of her neck stand straight. Their friend Nine. He had gone missing a few weeks before. He and Ten had been close.

But there was no way Ten suspected a sweet guy like Seven of...cannibalism? If she had decoded the message correctly, that was what it implied. The knife came down in the kitchen again.

Six screamed.

“Six! What’s wrong? What is it?” Seven ran out of the kitchen in a deep blue apron. He ran up and tried to take her hands. She tore away from him.

“What’s wrong?” he asked, a portrait of concern.

“I-I got a message, and Ten said... and Nine, she said you...” Six took a deep breath. Now, as she was saying it aloud, it sounded so crazy. Seven wasn’t a cannibal. That was sick and crazy. He was a sweet guy. Ten was just trying to scare her.

“Nothing. Nothing, it’s fine,” she tried to laugh it off, but her laughter sounded fake to her own ears, “It’s just Ten trying to scare me. She’s so stupid. She sent me a prank. It got to me, that’s all.”

“Oh,” Seven reached out and tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear, “Alright. You okay?”

She nodded.

“Alright. Just sit back and enjoy your wine. I’m whipping up something special for you, okay?”

“Okay.”

He smiled, “It’ll just be a few minutes.”

Six watched as he walked back to the kitchen. Sighing, she sat back on the couch. When she got a hold of Ten, she was going to slap her silly. That was a mean joke. Ten knew Seven had been nervous about her date. Instead of sending a message of ‘good luck’ like a normal person, she sent her a prank.

Well, she knew better now. Turning off her phone, Six settled on the couch and sipped her wine.

In the kitchen, Seven coated his skillet with olive oil and placed Nine’s perfectly seasoned flesh on it to fry.

numbers, weird!otp, weird!fic
