Seriously though, a new girl crush. Only 9 hours or so go in the Heroes marathon. I knew that Niki had double-crossed DL. Now I want to know why. Is Niki supposed to be a hero/good guy b/c I'm not seeing it as of yet. Is Claire's dad a good guy or not? I can't tell. He's just creepy even when he's being nice. Because she suuuuuucks. :) Honestly, I think it's a combination of factors, but it's probably the most to do with her total lack of chemistry with Peter. It was like, you're taking the dreamiest and most ship-able guy on the show and sticking him with a girlfriend that he has NEGATIVE chemistry with? Simone bore the brunt of the frustration over that. Me, I just found her boring.
I will never understand why Lyla and Tim hooked up.
I think a better actress than Minka Kelly (like Adrianne, damn that would have been cool) could have sold this storyline, so I have to kind of pretend when I'm watching it and fill the holes in for myself. Minka just doesn't have the depth or nuance as an actress to play the kind of subtext that was needed to make it work ( ... )

Chemistry is subjective. I do think Peter/Claire have more chemistry but IMO not that much more than Peter/Simone.
Me, I just found her boring.
Well she is kinda there but no more than some other characters that merely serve sidekicks and the like. Someone's got to have that job.
But what FNL gets so right is that it approaches the cliche in a way that's so organic and realistic that you forget you've seen this storyline a hundred times because you've never seen it done so WELL.

Fair enough. I guess I should have said the general perception that she and Peter don't have a lot of chemistry, because that was pretty much the consensus. But if they're working for you, then cool. You're enjoying a part of the show that most of us were either bored or annoyed by, so you're pretty much the winner. :)
As far as the boring thing, it wasn't her function in the story that I found boring; something about her character overall just never clicked with me. But again, if it's working for you, cool.

Besides the fact that I found her boring, she just got in the way of all that obvious Petrelli macking, I think. Nathan/Peter was kinda popular from the start and then later pairings (possible spoilers, so I'll keep that to myself) came to be and the fans really started in on her. Anyway, it seems like everyone wanted Golden Boy Peter to be with anyone else other than Simone, so she got hated on unfortunately.

I love Heroes! I'm watching it on UK TV so I am still in Season 1 but I love it.
I didn't know that everyone was down on Simone (love that name by the way). She is gorgeous looking huh? Those eyes.
