I Just Love My Son

Oct 28, 2007 16:16

My son just loves pushing his stroller down Muray Avenue. He can direct his way down too pretty much without any help.  He's such a willful child and doesn't want me to help. Bringing our stuff from the Squirrel Hill Food Pantry back home, he didn't have any problem showing off to passerbys especially Chinese people. Boy, he loves them!

Anyhow, H and I decided it's been long enough: time to capture all the fun Ivry moments while traveling in the States before settling in Pittsburgh. So, for today...

1.I'm picking up the books today in the living room, and he says: "Good for You!"
2. In New York's Central Park, Ivry watches a ranger watering the plants “Daddy, in America  there is water?” (There is shortage of water in Israel, thus the question)
3.It is a known fact that our Ivry loves olives so he says, “Aba, how do you call olives in America?” Too cute.
4. While visiting relatives in California this past summer, Haim said to Aunt Judy  in one of their conversations: It’s easy, it’s a piece of cake.” Ivry of course overheard and said: “Where is the piece of cake! I want to eat a piece of cake!”

5.When Haim asked Ivry during our first couple of weeks: “How is America?” He answered: “Gadol Midai - too big.” When we  asked him today and he says again: "too big" but no Hebrew. Interesting.

6.Haim asked Ivry: What do you remember from New York? And Ivry answered: “The Statue of Liberty.”Wow.

7. The other day Ivry said: “It is cold outside. Let’s put on a jacket.” Very sharp.

8. After the third day in New York, Ivry understood that the kids at the park could not understand Hebrew so spoke with them in English, but when he spoke half Hebrew and half English with one little boy at a nearby synagogue in Pittsburgh, the little boy said: “I don’t understand you.”

9. After every meal, Ivry says, “Thank you Mommy,  Thank you Daddy.” [Then throws the plastic plate.- just kidding - that was mine]

10. This one is my favorite: When Haim exited the shower, Ivry asked: “Daddy, do you want a diaper?”

Enjoy!
