birthday weekend
Friday, Jason came down for the weekend and to celebrate my b-day. (i'm the icky 30, btw). I didnt want to stay out late drinking like Alicia did because the next morning was the mini-marathon. We instead played some Wii with my family. For my present, Jason made me a short film that he wrote/directed/starred in featuring the music of Radiohead. I think it's his best work to date because he wasnt trying to be silly like his other stuff.
The race went pretty good. I finished with my fastest time so far 2:52:15, but it wasnt good enough for my personal goal of 2:50:00. Oh well, I have another race on the 17th to make that goal. I felt like I didnt push myself hard enough because I wasnt even tired after this 13 mile race. I'll know I kicked ass if I feel like passing out at the finish line.
The rest of the time we just hung out, saw movies, played more wii, got started planning his move. Y'know, stuff.
My birthday present from Alicia arrived today in the mail. A limited edition Portishead vinyl box set. It's pretty. Too bad I dont have turntables. I need to go buy some now to play the records. It came with a usb drive with the album and some videos on it, plus an original drawing by their album art guy. I should get a frame for that. YAY PORTISHEAD!!! I hope they tour some more in the US. I'd fa sho go see em anywhere since I missed them at Coachella.
