So, I've got an in-between job right now, and they're paying me more than the other two girls they hired at the time same time for my experience. I can live with this for a little while, while I turn myself into a real adult and start achieving things and figuring what to do with my life.
I read an article that said spending all your time job searching is sort of a necessary evil but it doesn't really better anyone so it's good to take half or a portion of the time you'd spend job hunting and use to work on a project that actually helps people. This made some sense to me so I tried to think of something that helps people - that solves a need. There have some really cool ideas like that. I immediately thought of the Ronald McDonald House and then
The Book Thing and man what cool ideas. I'm sure the article wasn't suggestion things on that scale necessarily but I began to think anyway and came up with some silly ideas and some OK ideas.
- A feral cat sanctuary for all the feral cats that live at Pimlico that they euthanize every year.
- A place using the same idea as the book thing but instead collects donations of baby items and toys that your children have outgrown
- A place that provides free daycare for people who can't afford it. (No, I don't know how this would work)
- A place that provides free cheese and crackers to people who want to have parties but can't afford snacks (this is when I started getting silly)
And then I looked at a Post Secret book so to see what kind of problems might be solved there but most of those people really just need a therapist.
I need to figure out what to do with my life. STAT.
