My friend Harrison is town with his manager. They are awesome and have invited me to go to pitch meetings with them all week. It's been a fun experience, I don't know what I'm hoping to get out of these meetings but it's fun being around industry folk and it's fun hanging out with a friend. It's been great having something to get ready and go to every morning.
I need a job. I NEED A JOB. I'm thinking about applying to Starbucks this week. Seriously. I just had an expected 250 dollar bill and other things are piling up and I'm okay right now but it's not gonna last long. I keep applying to things that are unpaid but the truth is I probably couldn't take one for long even if I got it.
I'm also trying to find a therapist. Thank you Blue Shield PPO for covering just about every child psychiatrist in Los Angeles, that's very helpful for me! *eye roll*
Enough complaining! There are good things:
-- I joined the Hollywood/Wilshire YMCA which is in this neat old building and an awful lot of fun. And I saw Ryan Gosling walk by it. He had sunscreen on his nose like Brendan Fraser in Encino Man. It made me giggle.
-- I've been going to Hollywood United Methodist Church, not because I'm Methodist or religious really, but I enjoy the people that go there and the atmosphere. It's pretty much "the gay church" which is cool.
-- I've made a few friends, John and I have been getting together about once a week. I'm sort of starting to feel like I really know people. Well a few people.
