This month's issue of Vogue is the Shape issue. While coming from Vogue, I thought this was just be ridiculous and another way to celebrate tall and thin as the only body type.
On further review, it actually had some really good things to say.
For example, on an article about yoga: "What keeps you looking and feeling gorgeous and vital is the knowledge and well-being that comes from befriending your own body" Granted these women are rich and can afford a helluva a lot more than I can in these ways, that seemed pretty on the money. The article goes on to talk about how she didn't lose weight doing yoga nor did she become super thin (thus far), but her body changed and she felt better living in it. I thought that was pretty great.
Also amusing was the gym etiquette. There was a lot, so I'll just make a random list:
Everyone must bathe before working out.
Don't sing loudly along with your iPod.
Don't hog machines (it's called working-in).
Along with that, one should return everything to its proper place.
Don't go when you have a cold.
Arrive on time to classes and the first two rows are for the most experienced people in the class.
It was rather amusing and kind of snooty at spots, but it is Vogue. Basically, remember that you are in a shared space and treat it that way.
Later I'll post the info about what clothes are right for your body type (combine if you are both curvy and short, like myself).
