So I've been thinking about resolutions. Obviously, since it's New Year's and all. And our lovely mod, becca, asked me if I had any the other day (i'm staying at her apartment right now :D), and I wasn't sure. And so I've been thinking. I don't think I really believe in New Year's resolutions. Yeah I'm all for self-improvement and all of that but New Year's resolutions have become these kind of trite, over-glorified things that really in the end just make you feel bad. Cause usually people just spit out the normal resolutions (lose weight, save money, etc) and then don't have any specific goals to get to that point...like, "I'm going to lose thirty pounds", and they just say that but then don't make a plan to actually make it happen. And then you have this huge goal that's impossible to do and so of course you don't do it by the end of the year and then you just end up feeling bad. Which is why I don't think I really "believe" in them. So, I guess, what do all you guys think? Opinions on this? Do you all make resolutions?
That all being said...I do have some things I'd like to work on, some smaller goals that I'm looking at only for this spring semester. I'm calling them nonresolutions. Or maybe just goals, cause that's really what they are. Well maybe not. More of just...."things that I want to work on but hey it's no big deal if it doesn't work out". So here it is:
1.) Take my multivitamin more regularly. This is really important. I'm borderline anemic and I don't eat red meat so I don't get enough iron and this makes me tired ALLLLLL the time. Which leads to number 2:
2.) Get on a regular sleep schedule again. #1 is really important to #2 because I get occasional insomnia and if I haven't been taking my multivitamin then I get super exhausted.
3.) Start working out again. Ideally, I'd loooooove to work out each weekday morning, which entails waking up at 8 AM. This prooobably isn't going to happen in all likelihood but I'll be happy if I just do it more often than last semester. Which, by the way, was never. So that's lookin pretty good!
4.) Spend less money this semester than last semester (which should be easy since I'm going to work a lot more this semester)
5.) Keep up my GPA
Annnd resolution #3 leads to my question that I have for all of you!

I want to make a CD for when I work out (maybe that will help motivate me)! So I'm looking for some good songs that are high energy. So far I have a couple ideas, such as "Toxic" by Britney Spears, "I like the way you move" by Outkast, "Bootylicious" by Destiny's Child, etc. Now none of these are songs I'd ever actually listen to, but I can imagine myself working away on the elliptical to them. So any other ideas??!?!! give me anything you got, any kind of music whatsoever...just need some ideas to get me started! Thanks guys.
