(no subject)
I've never been in this much pain before. I can hardly swallow. For the past week or so, I'd been having minor discomfort in my throat when I swallowed. Well, Thursday night it got worse...a lot worse. Nick got a flashlight and looked down my throat and discovered that I have white spots all over my tonsils and that my tonsils are swollen and red. He called his doctor (Leigh Copeland, Dr. Copeland's wife) and she perscribed me some antibiotics. Well, the next day I was feeling even worse so Ashley went with me to UAB student health services. They didn't really do much...they just confirmed what I already knew: I have a bad case of strep on my tonsils...They couldn't give me much for the pain...just this gross, "Magic Mouthwash" stuff that was coincidently created by Ashley's uncle and is supposed to deaden your throat...well, it doesn't work all too well and Ashley's roommate said I could use her hydrocodone...thank goodness...at least that puts me to sleep for an hour or so. So yeah, I just woke up this morning and the pain is even worse so I took a buttload of medicine and I'm just waiting for the drugs to kick in so I can go back to sleep.
Hey, it could be worse though...at least I'm not alone. Ashley has been wonderful in taking care of me since she knows how I feel because she had it before the Christmas holidays. I really hope I get to move in with her this summer...that would be ideal.
And of course, my absolutely amazing boyfriend Nick has been taking really good care of me. Last night he made me hot tea, soup, and toast and we just took it easy and watched movies until I fell asleep. I'm so greatful to have such wonderful people in my life who look after me like they do. Hopefully, I'll be able to return the favor sometime.
Okay, I think the drugs are finally starting to work their magic because I feel sleepy and light-headed...I hope I go back to sleep soon because I've been irrationally contemplating ripping out my tonsils myself...that's just how bad the pain is. Yeah...not something I really wanna do.
